Are they actually locked in?

I've never been on a cruise ship - can the doors be locked from the outside so that people can't get out?

Sounds like a breach of fire regulations to me.

What's stopping the passengers from walking out of their cabins?

Apparently forbidden to leave cabins. Some going stir crazy!
Those with balconies are lucky, those with inside cabins are saying there is no fresh air.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/trapped-on-virus-ravaged-cruis...
And, on tonight’s news, the passengers travel insurance dong cover pandemics!
Many want to cancel cruising or get refunds but are told, go in the cruise or lose the money!

I'd leave my cabin

I wouldn't be able to go two weeks without fresh air.

I imagine the poop deck is where you'd "air" yourself.

You have a vivid imagination.

I'm flattered, by the way, but not interested.

I wonder how long the virus survives on surfaces such as
door knobs, light switches, bench tops -
places where you need to touch?
Does it reside inside air conditioners and then get blown around a room?
If so inside ships could remain dangerous for a long time.

I heard the virus can last up to 5 days on a smooth surface.

I wonder if it could be longer?

Not the first time you've wondered that, I bet.

Fear of catching a deadly disease? I would assume they have been asked to isolate themselves and it makes sense. The same as in Wuhan the streets are empty but people are not locked in.

If everyone else is in their cabin, who are they going to catch the virus from if someone decides to go for a stroll on the poop deck?

Wink

Logic fail. If one Peccary decided to go out to the poop deck, why do you think the other 3000 Peccaries would stay put?

Not really, you said you would have to go out for some air and mentioned the poop deck. It suits.

Another logic fail. They wouldn't, they would just have to need some fresh air as you said and head out to the poop deck. Peccaries are peculiar predictable pigs.

So, how many passengers have actually left their cabins so far?

You have the answer? Are you pontificating perhaps on how many passengers are peccaries?

If they  were all you then all of them as you wouldn't stay put.

Can you read Chinese Bobby?

I could ask Chinese DiL what it says but that would probably be pointless as you wouldn't believe it. What is it with you and youtube shysters?
