My theory on why there are so many Chinese people dying is that urban Chinese have inherently weaker immune systems, the other thing is that there are probably so many unreported cases so the death rate probably isnt anywhere near 2 percent, probably 0.2 percent more accurately. Which is still a lot but take into account other cultural factors and I dont believe this virus will kill so many in other countries. A lot of people in the west now have contacted it and there are no mass deaths. Just one so far I believe. This is just looking to be a bad flu epidemic at the most.
The main thing is that they are not actually treating most coronavirus patients in Wuhan. They have so many cases that the best they can do is just isolate them in places like gymnasiums full of beds. They are also short of everything including test kits. Faced with a choice of dying without your family in a gym or dying at home, I can see why so many would choose the latter.
At least we're down to 10 active cases now in Australia. Five have been cured and test negative. The fatality rate is much higher in Hubei province (24,953 cases to date) than anywhere else in China, so I agree that outside China the fatality rate will be very low.
The Brits still have a few flights coming from China and the government is copping a lot of flac, They have thermal imaging at airports, but if you look at the details about 30% of cases in Hubei are not reporting a fever. Thermal imaging is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike
