Yes, that’s a good question Bobby, other nations have, maybe tourism is more important?
40 people needing to be found to be tested.
Then it will be, 80, 160, 320....

Maybe some of those 40 people went to the beauty salon to come back home to Sydney or Melbourne Bobby?

It’s hypothetical.....for now.

So people will die because ScoMo was slow off the mark?

I am going to move to Indonesia.

Grin of course, they have no reported cases yet?
You’ll be safe as houses there  Wink

Its a wise decision, the Indonesian president told the Indonesians to pray very hard to Allah to stop this bat virus from entering its country and it has worked.

He also told them not to work overtime, relax more, and....smoke more!

Can't argue with that logic, I have been saying that for years, its a cure all.

You know Bobby, it would be damned if he does (creating undue panic)
And damned if he doesn’t (not acting quickly enough).

We are supposed to have a lay back she’ll be right attitude here, right?
We wait until it gets really bad, then act. Isn’t that the way it’s always done?
Even with certain black spots in road traffic, only when tragedy happens then something is done.
Always after the fact.

If Scotty locks down the Gold Coast, omg 😮 image the criticism he will get!

So far my flight is still going ahead. Tiger have not issued flight restrictions to Gold Coast yet.

North Korea's first confirmed Coronavirus COVID 19 patient shot dead: report

In what appears to be a rather drastic measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID 19), North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un allegedly sanctioned for the execution of the first North Korean patient tested positive for the deadly strain of the virus.

According to Secret Beijing, an anonymous social media commentator, who terms himself as an analyst on China affairs, the patient was shot dead. The story is still developing and there is still no clarity on the details of the patient executed by North Korea.

This comes as no surprise as under its dictator Kim Jong Un such harsh measures have been carried out for silliest of reasons.

Coronavirus: New Queensland case has no links to China

As many as 40 people may have been exposed to coronavirus after an infected woman worked at a Gold Coast shopping centre.

The first coronavirus case in Australia with no links to China has been confirmed, with as many as 40 people now at risk of exposure to the virus after the infected woman worked at a Gold Coast shopping centre.

The 63-year-old woman is currently in isolation at the Gold Coast University Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. She is in a stable condition.

Chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said the woman had recently returned from Iran, where there are more than 388 confirmed cases and coronavirus is rapidly spreading.

Speaking to reporters at lunchtime Dr Young said the woman, who worked as a beautician on the Gold Coast, had arrived in Australia from Iran “perfectly well” on Monday.

She had shown no signs of illness on the flight or first days back in the country until Thursday when she began showing “minimal symptoms” of coronavirus.

The beautician began to feel unwell at work that and spoke to her manager before leaving to seek medical help.

I was trying to work out what the difference was between the 84 percent of people who contract this virus and only experience mild symptoms and the rest who either die or need intensive care to survive, there seems to be nothing in between. Also the young , unlike other types of influenza appear to be immune. Watched part of the news today where a scientist has stated he believes that due to the way this illness works cigarette smokers are the high risk group. Apparently the Corona virus starts in the upper respiratory tract and moves to the lower respiratory tract, those with compromised lung capacity due to smoking are apparently affected the worst. The epicentre of the virus in Wuhan is a badly polluted part of China, allegedly living in these polluted areas is akin to smoking 20 to 40 cigarettes a day. The virus isnt touching the young and 99.9 percent of the dead are elderly and  from polluted Chinese cities. I have never been to mainland China, except Hong Kong but I do know in other parts of Asia that smoking is prevalent on a large scale. Then I did a google on cigarette smoking in China ( attention  Guido and Mothra, this is called research) and came up with this. Quote:
Smoking in China is prevalent, as the People's Republic of China is the world's largest consumer and producer of tobacco:[1] there are 350 million Chinese smokers,[1] and China produces 42% of the world's cigarettes.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_in_China
Im  going to go out on a limb here and say that if you dont smoke and live in a relatively unpolluted area I think you will be one of the 84 percent whom if they catch it will experience only mild symptoms.
The other thing is that scientists are calling this a winter virus, contagious in cold conditions.
I think we are unnecessarily panicking in regard to this and I do not think it will have anywhere near the fatality rate they have experienced in China.

Turns out the only Australian death is an ethnically Chinese person who had not recently been to China.  Too much of a coincidence. Something going on here. Why are the media deliberately excluding racial origin when reporting on this.
