Epping Boys High School faces a one-day shut down after a year 11 student was found to have the virus.

New South Wales Health is urging students and staff to self-isolate if they fall ill with respiratory illness.

There are 55 recorded cases of coronavirus nationwide, 25 of which are in NSW.

Queensland confirmed two new cases this week, bringing its total number of infections to 13.

The first Australian baby was diagnosed in South Australia, becoming the seventh case after his mother returned from Iran on Sunday.

Four Australians remain in lockdown on board the Grand Princess cruise ship off the coast of California over fears of an outbreak on board the vessel.

my God wouldnt deliberately make us ALL suffer for the sake of a few.....

I’m curious. Some hopefully not dumb questions to ponder.
When the vaccine is made and ready, will it be effective for those already affected by Covud-19? Or is it good for those not yet affected?

(Thinking of the flu jab only good before getting the flu)
Is it a vaccine that’s preventative, an antidote, or both?

Will this new vaccine be mandatory?

Will everyone be expected to have the vaccine when travelling overseas, like the old days when people were vaccinated before going anywhere?

Vaccines are preventative, not a cure. If you already have the virus, your body has already made antibodies to fight it.

They were working on a vaccine to SARS but couldn't get it to work. The tests showed antibodies were created but subsequent SARS infection produced a cytokine storm.

This is nothing more than window dressing. While America continues to have an idiot in the White House’s whose criminal dishonest dismissal of the disease’s severity any vaccine currently under hasten clinical trials will have little impact other than to quiet stock market fears. Already, the number of cases in MAGA tard country continue to rise. The F A T orange puke's response response at every level has been negligent and incompetent, exposing a total lack of planning and preparation in the world’s richest capitalist country. You know, all that "America First" used car rheotric that helps no one but the rich.

What the F A T orange puke fails to realize (as with so many other things) is the lethality of the virus and equating it with the common flu; the United Nations’ World Health Organization (WHO) reported on March 4 that 3.4 percent of people infected by the coronavirus had already bought a farm.

What's even more insulting is the F A T orange puke to the health of the population is no better, and perhaps worse, than the attitude of the pharaohs of ancient Egypt to the slaves. No wonder America's pro-war corporate media has spent far more time bitching about the fall in share values on Wall Street than the actual loss of human life.

Congress is no better. A mere $8.3 billion to fight the outbreak amounts to than one tenth the annual cost of the war in Afghanistan and one fifteenth the wealth of Amazon CEO Jeff Bozos.

Coronovirus is not a "common flu" it is fast becoming the new "Black Death” – like the epidemic of bubonic plague which devastated Europe in the 14th century. While medical science has made great advances, and we are certainly capable of developing a vaccine and testing and treating everyone, our social organization and economic system, capitalism, is still stuck in the past. Only a socialist reorganization of society to fight this threat and prepare for other environmental catastrophes.
