That only works if the numbers they get still remain low enough for the system to function.

There's some logic in that but we're getting both at the same time.

the article i was reading had graphs with their projections. In effect it was more deaths short term but more lives saved long term.

My doctor wouldn't lie to me.

Most people will just get a runny nose for 3 days -
probably 90%
maybe 9% will feel ill for a week or more and
perhaps 1% will die.

My company has officially lost it.

Senior management meeting today.
We all walked into the room and had to sanitize our hands.
The room was spared with Glen 20 and all surfaces wiped down.

The whole meeting was about contingency planning when, not if, we have an outbreak.
I explained that it was virtually inevitable that we woukd have an incident, possibly several.
I explained that staggered lunch times, separate areas for groups and staggered working hours would be helpful in keeping the infections controlled.

All they were worried about was how they could avoid catching it.
They were not worried about the workers catching it, they figured that once they got better, they could comes back.
They were also looking at ways to avoid paying sick leave.

What about the workers, their incomes, they might even die.
Not a problem they say.
Only key personnel should be protected , the management team.

So, from now on, the offices are out of bounds.
Managers can work from home if there is an outbreak.

What a load of shite.
I ow know why I hate my workplace.

I had taken to washing my face every time I washed my hands. But with the media barrage of the virus, I have had to go back to being clean-shaven until the slowdown of the virus is apparent.

They also tend to their vege gardens, enjoy time with family/grandchildren.

Today, I went in early to my local shops/village to get fuel in vehicle with 4 c off ($1.09c per litre!)
And I see a couple elderly gents having a friendly yarn, one pats the other on the shoulder and they both have a joke and smile.

It just made me feel happy to see that for some reason.

I truly truly hope, we do NOT have the same outbreak here in Oz as in Europe. How distressing, fearful and grief stricken people and families must be feeling over there Cry
