I just heard that a man has died in Sydney after having a heart attack, because nobody would give him CPR.

Because he was Chinese, they thought he must have coronavirus.

This is what media hysteria can do.

wish you'd been there, Greg   Tongue

He might still be alive if I was.

at least he'd have a chance of dying happy

(if he were of that persuasion)

With sudden a coronary, you do not need to do the breathing part, at least for the first few minutes, there is enough oxygen in their blood. It should have been enough to just do the chest compressions until the emergency crew got there.

Yeah, my son tells me before it even gets on the news like the one I posted last night. He works in emergency at GCUH.

Yup I read where you posted it then saw the story.

Check this out. They're contacting everyone who was on the flight which is good, but only asking people the 2 rows front/rear to isolate themselves.
That seems a bit slapdash as depending where he was sitting on the plane he could have breathed on everyone when emb/disembarking.

“Those passengers who were sitting two rows in front and behind of this cohort, once we’ve managed to identify their seats, we’ll be asking them to go into isolation.”

Without a doubt. It will be a financial hit, but worth it.

I used to work for Melbourne Ambulance, as Data processor with all the reports from ambo drivers, I would know before it was news.
Some were quite tragic, would always stop me mid typing, and just feel sad.

Anyway, re: the plane situation with domestic flight from Melbourne to Gold Coast, I just told my daughter, whom will be flying from Melbourne to Gold Coast next week, to wear nose mask and glasses.
And she said she definitely will.
Now we won’t know who is infected until 14 days later.

In airplanes the air goes round and round. So just people sitting near the person tested positive does not make sense to me.
Recirculated air!
The air used to be cleaner in planes when smoking was permitted.

Carrying some alcohol wipes/handwash(above 60%) might be an idea too. Alcohol apparently kills it.

I will giver her a bottle of Spumante to drink  Smiley
She had those wipes that kill 99% germs, and hand sanitizer in gel and spray. Plus once she gets to house after getting off con x ion shuttle, she is washing all her clothes worn, and showering.
If she still should be unlucky, can’t say she didn’t try to protect herself.
I used to look at the odd random person or two wearing masks, but now it’s not so amusing and in fact more accepting to see.

Hmm... how about drinking it? Might be one of the best reasons I've heard in a long time to start getting drunk on a daily basis.

(I strongly suspect a few members on this forum are already way ahead of us here).

Edit: yep... got beaten to it... must learn to type faster... Smiley
