Stay away from restaurants

it's difficult enough to get people to wash their  hands (and vegetables, salad greens, etc) when they're preparing and cooking for those they love


restaurants love your money and money itself is one the THE PRIME carriers of germs, viruses, etc.

wear plastic gloves if you use supermarket trolleys/baskets.  Wash your hands well (full Happy Birthday song) when you arrive home.  Give products a wipe-over with sanitised wipes before putting them in fridge or cupboards

limit visitors
stop visiting people until this entire thing is over
tell them why

use gloves and wipes on public transport and wash hands the minute you get home/work

anyone coughing in public is likely to get lynched and it will become worse so start wearing a mask when you go out/all the time if you have a cough or cold

if you must eat out or stop for coffee, turn the cup around.  Most people are right handed, lift a cup in their right and all those lips hit the same spot on the rim of the cup.  Turn the cup around and sip from the other, less used side.  This is advice from an old woman who'd lost several family members early last century in a pandemic/plague

toss loose change in metho for an hour or two
Most men have a filthy hanky in their pockets
that's where their loose change lives
That loose change is cycled through checkouts and stores and ends up in your hands or purse or wallet
You can iron paper money to sterilise somewhat.  Check on a corner first. Not sure how our plastic money copes with a hot iron. Otherwise chuck paper money in metho too, after experimenting on a corner of a note

Clean office and desk surfaces regularly

Funny the accusations of racism being leveled at the white people in this thread. That's nothing, check out what people from HK, Singapore, Tawain, Japan and Korea have to say about mainland Chinese.

Some of what's being called racism is genuine fear of what WHO is now calling a 'global emergency' and it's all been caused by Chinese appealing levels of hygiene and allowing the disgusting treatment of animals in what's touted as a hi-tech city.

This is a huge loss of face for China, and hopefully it will be a wake-up call for them and hopefully, there's backlash against the Govt for allowing the appalling standards that causes this to happen.

Here’s another example of our own Aussie’s not practicing hygiene, my friend just told me, in Aldi, she saw a male coughing in his hands, then picked up a meat tray to look at, then put it back!
My friend was going to buy some meat, but got put off and walked away without any.

We need to have some informative advertising NOW on our own Oz tv about practicing and being more aware of good hygiene habits!!

That's grotty but low danger as the meat is vac sealed in plastic. Yes people cough and sneeze without covering but nothing compares with China where spitting and open mouth coughing is the still the norm.
