The coronavirus has an ‘HIV-like’ mutation which helps it to bind with human cells at a terrifyingly effective rate, Chinese scientists have claimed. A new study from Nankai University alleged that Covid-19’s ability to infect cells is up to 1,000 times more powerful than SARS, a coronavirus which caused 774 deaths in 17 countries between November 2002 and July 2003. The new coronavirus emerged in Wuhan, China, and has now killed 2,800 victims and infected more than 80,000. In a new piece of research, scientists said SARS enters the human body by binding with a protein called ACE2 that exists in human cell membranes. But the new coronavirus aims for an enzyme called furin – the same enzyme attacked by HIV and ebola. Professor Ruan Jishou and his team at Nankai University found genes in Covid-19 which did not exist in SARS but can be found in both of the viruses responsible for spreading HIV and ebola, according to the South China Morning Post.

Leading scientist admits world tried 'very hard' to stop the outbreak but the battle is OVER as more than 80 countries have confirmed cases of the killer infection.

    Urged more drastic measures to contain virus on home soil and mitigate deaths.

The world's battle with coronavirus is now over, a leading scientist today declared amid the rampant spread of the deadly infection.

Professor Neil Ferguson, of Imperial College London, admitted the world 'tried very hard to stop this virus altogether' but had failed.

He told the BBC Today programme: 'You can see from the statistics, the number of countries affected that that battle is really over.'

More than 80 nations across the world have now confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The Faroe Islands and Poland today became the latest countries to be struck – only a handful of European nations have not recorded cases.

It was never going to be contained.  The medical experts knew this.  The fact that it can spread without a carrier showing any symptoms and not just early on, some people never experience symptoms or get nothing more than a mild cold-like, not even flu-like symptoms plus the variable length of time for the incubation period before symptoms show or even a positive test result will measure.

This is why while we have a number of confirmed cases, the number of actual cases is likely far far higher.  This is why the death rate and the lethality based on only confirmed cases is a little misleading, again, what the experts are saying.

The paradigm of the media wanting to be the first to report, wanting to get the most out of every story and hyping, scaring people, telling them to prepare and panic buy etc, it's worse than what the virus is, at this stage anyway.

And we can see it in how people talk about it on here.  The same few are claiming we're in the end times...

They've caught the hype train and are wanting to be the first to report here whatever sensational news they read without a care for fact-checking or even correcting themselves after someone else has fact-checked them.

The misinformation and panic, for no reason, is going to cost economies around the world dearly.

Even now, we should be alert, but not anxious. 

Alert, take all the normal flu precautions, hand washing, avoid touching face, clean surfaces, avoid travel and crowed places unless you need to be there (like a Queen concert lol), but don't be anxious, don't go panic buying or seeking medication or even alternative treatment and preventative measures you've seen on facebook or twitter...

Don't drink or gargle bleach.

Don't even waste your time doing the same with salt, it doesn't help and will make you think you may have defeated the virus leading you to spread it around more.

Don't pay through the nose for these Miracle Mineral Solutions, or Silver Solutions.  They don't do anything to kill the virus or stop you getting if you've been exposed and could actually harm you.

Just be smart and live your lives.

Fact check the shared social media, whatsapp and chain email messages about "Dr so and so, from someplace says" because 90% of them are bullshit and again will give you a false sense of security especially if you've been exposed and will help the further spread of the virus.

I'm deeply disappointed that so many people need to be told this.  I knew politically we are a stupid people in Australia, but I'm shocked at how generally stupid so many people actually are.
