he says there is no test for Covid-19 but doesn't supply evidence.
However I wonder how millions of test kits could have been
manufactured so quickly for a new virus and
how it doesn't give false positives to the very
similar common cold Corona viruses.
The details are missing in our news about that.

China, like most heavily Militarised Nations. Spent most of its money on 'Armaments' rather than Medical Hygiene. It was a straight forward garden variety Virus outbreak due to dirty-filthy conditions in poor backstreets where the rotting slop of slaughter and toiletry build-up over ages eventually morphed the bacteria.
And it's not the first time for China either.
Sci-Fi writers have often pointed out this characteristic in 'Military' nations (let alone high substance abuse).

Funny how you now see China's 'Face' as being very 'Medical' orientated now, if not too late.
But hey, you can't be good at everything and you just have to roll with the advantages and disadvantages of the direction your nation goes.

Statistical models meant to project the potential reach of the coronavirus and the COVID-19 disease suggest more than a million Americans could die if the nation does not take swift action to stop its spread as quickly as possible.

At least three different models built by epidemiology experts suggest that millions of Americans will contract the coronavirus, even in optimistic projections, based on what they know of its spread in China and the United States so far.

One model from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggested that between 160 million and 210 million Americans could contract the disease over as long as a year. Based on mortality data and current hospital capacity, the number of deaths under the CDC's scenarios ranged from 200,000 to as many as 1.7 million.

It found as many as 21 million people might need hospitalization, a daunting figure in a nation with just about 925,000 hospital beds.

There are two ways wearing a mask can help, but you need eye protection too. 

1. It prevents you from touching your face and passing on the virus from objects you have touched.

2. It's quite effective at clearing people out of your way, especially if you also have a cough. (works wonders in the toilet paper aisle)

What it won't do is to protect you directly from the virus.  By the way, if you have a scarf around your face, it will work just as well as a surgical mask.  A D95 mask is better, but it's an effort to breath through it effectively.  I can wear one for about an hour but I get tired quickly doing that.

By the way, you can make your own hand sanitiser. Diggers Methylated spirit hasn't contained any harmful ingredients since 2001.  It's basically ethanol. You can't drink it because it contains bittering agent (denatonium) and it will make you vomit. You can use the WHO recipe  using Diggers Metho at least.  For other brands check the SDS. If it contains methanol it has to say so. The government is basically hushing this up because it doesn't want inexperienced people messing with this stuff.

Washing your hands with soap and water is probably more effective.

If you have some bittering agent on your hands, you'll train yourself pretty quickly not to put them in your mouth.

You can choose to believe me or not. Anybody who wants to research it for themselves using the SDS can do so.

There is a way to remove the bittering agent, but you run the risk of causing a fire so I'll leave that bit out.

I've also been donating cpu power from some quiet servers at night and all of my equipment to the cause, sort of like folding at home.
