The last I had read was that, as of January 2025, the CIA has updated its assessment regarding the origins of COVID-19. The agency now considers a laboratory leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China as the most likely origin of the virus.

However, this conclusion is held with "low confidence," indicating that the information leading to this assessment is not definitive.

So there is still no evidence to prove it so you cannot made these definitive statements that it was a lab leak or bio weapon.

To illustrate, I could follow the same logic and claim that COVID was deliberately released by Trump, in China, to implicate them, destabilise the global economy, and divert attention away from the faltering economic indicators under his watch.

Much of that is based in truth, the US economy was indeed starting to struggle before the virus appeared, it originated in China, and the global economic damage provided cover for US economic performance.

But that's where reasonable speculation stops.

I could then go a step further and argue, "Trump covered it up, that's why there’s no evidence of him ordering the release of the virus, therefore, it must be true." That’s exactly the sort of leap you’re making.

Would you accept this as definitive proof that COVID was released by Trump to cover his failures?

No, of course not, because it’s not proof.

But that’s precisely what you expect of us regarding China. Then you throw a tantrum when you're called out?
