The "core" promise was to ensure everyone was covered including pre-existing conditions.

Obama also said you could keep your doctor. 

During the implementation of the plan, the insurance companies had to make structural changes which meant some doctors that were under their umbrella had to be let go.  This meant if you were using that doctor but your insurer no longer covered them under their umbrella, you can't choose that doctor anymore or your employer may change insurance providers and in some cases, doctors chose not to participate in the networks offered in the marketplaces so they can't be chosen either.

So by the Trump logic, that shouldn't matter because it wasn't the core promise.  Obama passed the ACA and people were able to get coverage, even for pre-existing conditions.

Case closed, queue the spam,

It wasn't a core promise, because I said so, so it doesn't matter, right?

The policy itself didn't include measures that would prevent people from keeping their current plans or their current doctors, but the implementation did.

It's the same with Trump.  He promised Mexico would pay for the wall, with a literal one-time payment of $5-$10 billion for starters.

Now the US Tax Payer is footing the bill with claims of getting the money back from Mexico, claims being made from a man notorious for not paying his bills or when the debt gets too high just giving up and declaring bankruptcy.

So what gives?

Why the huge double standard?

Why is it ok to allow Trump to break his promises and not only that, flat out lie and claim he kept them, but you'll go your opponents like a rabid dog for the same thing?

Trade agreements are for private companies, Panther. The US government doesn't make any money out of them. Sending Mexicans back doesn't increase US revenue either. It COSTS the government money to detain, try and transport them. The US hasn't imposed any tariffs or fees on Mexicans. That's the whole point of NAFTA and its revisions.

The Department of Defence is diverting $US3.8 billion from military projects to pay for the barrier, the Pentagon announced Thursday.
The administration is pulling almost $US1 billion from Navy shipbuilding projects, including the construction of a large amphibious assault ship and a fast transport ship.

In September, the Pentagon approved the reallocation of $US3.6 billion in military construction funds to build a barrier spanning 175 miles along the southern border. On Thursday, the Pentagon announced that “the Secretary of Defence authorised support of $US3.8B to build approximately 177 miles of fencing that will help to protect our borders.”

Among the projects affected this time around are two Navy shipbuilding projects: an America-class amphibious assault ship and a Spearhead-class Expeditionary Fast Transport Ship. The Pentagon is pulling $US650 million and $US261 million, respectively, from the projects.

"Mexican" is Trump's obscene abusive name for the US Navy which gets suckered by his protection racket .  The hatred goes way back to when an aircraft-carrier was used for betting stakes in Trump's casino and he lost way big.

First the Trump haters were attacking Trump for saying he was going to make Mexico build a wall.
Then they were attacking Trump for saying he was going to build a wall but didn't get Mexico to pay.
Now they are attacking Trump for building the wall without Mexico.

Talk about Mexur and Mextha.

Bring back the promise, at least it was a good laugh when they tried to attack.
