Link.

This makes no sense.  Assange has already said he did not get the emails from Russia.

Quote:
Assange's lawyer Edward Fitzgerald QC told the court his team wanted to submit more evidence — including a statement from another of Assange's lawyers, Jennifer Robinson.

He told the court the statement detailed an allegation that the former US Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher visited Assange on the instructions of US President Donald Trump.

The statement said the congressman offered him a pardon in return for saying Russia had nothing to do with the 2016 presidential campaign leaks.

So Trump blackmailing people for public comment happened more than just with Ukraine?

I'm soooooooooo surprised...

It has parallels with Fed raid on ABC about national security / Lib security.  Australia is sadly way behind with Guantanamo style of enhanced interrogation of persons of interest.

Dana Rohrabacher denies offering Assange a pardon from Trump

A former Republican congressman has denied he offered a pardon to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange on behalf of US President Donald Trump.

Assange's lawyer said Dana Rohrabacher claimed to be acting "on instructions" from Mr Trump in offering clemency.

In return, the president was said to have wanted Assange to say Russia was not involved in leaking emails during the 2016 US election.

But Mr Rohrabacher, a former California representative, rejected the claims.

"At no time did I talk to President Trump about Julian Assange. Likewise, I was not directed by Trump or anyone else connected with him to meet with Julian Assange," he said in a statement.

Mr Rohrabacher said he was acting on his own "fact-finding mission".

He said he told the Wikileaks founder that if he could provide evidence of who passed on the DNC emails, he would then call on the president to pardon him.

The White House called the allegation "a complete fabrication and a total lie".

"if he could provide evidence of who passed on the DNC emails, he would then call on the president to pardon him."

Words . It can mean that a pardon was offered , and the offer involved Trump.  It's not saying that Trump was doing the offering.  So Assange could be understood to have it correctly. The court record shows that.

But it's weird that he gave the answer without bargaining for Trump's real pardon.

It's fake news, Aussie.

Okay, it may have happened, but there was no quid pro quo.

Look, maybe there was a bit of quid pro quo, but Mr Trump didn't know a thing about it.

So what if Mr Trump knew about it? That doesn't mean a thing.

It's not a crime, okay?

I mean it's not a HIGH crime or anything.

Who cares? Mr Trump's never going to be chucked out, so why bother?

Best to just keep quiet about this, Aussie. We'll win so much we'll get tired of winning, no?

Aussie,

Julian Assange was not offered a pardon from Trump.

You lied and now you need to apologise or lose all credibility.

A quick brief on the Trump-Assange fake news today

There’s some serious fake news circulating today regarding Trump and Julian Assange that’s going to be a major embarrassment to those circulating the lie.  This will be a short breakdown of a somewhat involved subject but will be enough to fully enjoy the sweet taste of leftist tears.

You have to understand this fact to really maximize your enjoyment: there are still leftists and never-Trump morons who will take it to the grave that Trump and Putin stole the election from Hillary.  The Mueller investigation for which they cheered means nothing, nor does the IG report.  Accept that these people would settle for catching Trump with a bottle of Smirnoff at this point, when the reality is the closest thing to that side of the world involved with President Trump is Melania.

Here’s the fake story in a nutshell: Trump sent a surrogate to offer Assange a plea deal if he'd say he didn’t get the DNC material from the Russians for the purpose of hiding his collusion with Putin to steal the election from Hillary.

Yes, seriously.

Fact: Trump wasn’t even sworn in as President when Assange was publicly stating Russia or any state government had anything to do with the DNC material.
