Is America Suffering A Mental Health Crisis Or A Moral Crisis?

Is America Suffering A Mental Health Crisis Or A Moral Crisis?

Quote:

Resignation and defeat seem to pervade the American landscape.

We can barely even register notions of the common good, never mind what is objectively good for ourselves.

The moral and ethical foundation that ought to buttress us in times of hardship and fatigue is cracked and crumbling, if not altogether broken.

While the Left has certainly deconstructed our values into oblivion, we cannot disregard our collective spiritual and moral lassitude in this crisis either.

Not only in American society !!

Many recognise that in this age, [worldwide] the human psyche is in real crisis.

Q.
Is the modern influence of Globalism upon humanity [driven by a Socialist idealism, and selfish personal demands/desires], been the culprit ?

e.g.
Many of the 'voices' on Social media today, are telling young people; "You have the absolute right, to do anything you want to."

Anything goes.

Suggesting, that there should be, NO constraining boundaries.

If we are taught and believe, that 'There are no absolute rules.',   ....it means we believe, that we have the authority, to do anything we like.

Its true !

e.g.

"One of her mottos to me was, you know, ’You can be as naughty as you want, just don't get caught’."

- Prince Harry, on Princess Diana's moral advice, to her two little princes.

"When people stop believing in God, they do not believe in nothing. They believe in anything."
- G.K. Chesterton

Its true !

Q.
Have we ['modern'/sophisticated humanity] 'lost our way' ?

Quote:

A simple definition of SANITY/INSANITY.

Typically, an unrestrained sane person will act in ways which are harmless to others, and in ways which are creative, and productive [for himself, others, and society].

And typically, and conversely, an unrestrained INSANE person will act in ways which are harmful and destructive to himself, and, or, others around him.

My take is that we need to abandon all those who claim the world's never been worse and is about to end, etc

Humans have always harboured creatures.  They look human, but they're capable of inhuman actions

two Welsh, married fathers gang raped a woman as she walked past an alleyway on her way home.  She didn't see them coming.  Dragged her down the alley.  1800s.  Excuse?  None.  They were just more of the lowlife contingent

Children raped, tortured, murdered, tossed into drains and creeks is a story as old as time

Brutal sadism against helpless animals

Theft, embezzlement, treacheries of all kinds

All variety of depravity

And through it all, humans have worked, married, raised children and died

We're more aware these days of what interweaves societies so it seems as if things are on the edge.  But in truth, it's always been this way

Imagine what today's media would do with Drakul who enjoyed eating his meals to a background of hundreds of impaled human bodies writhing and groaning in agony

or Elizabeth Bathory who believed her regular baths in the blood of virgins were what kept her young

The baby trades existed then as now

The brutal, sadistic treatment of helpless children by 'authorities'

it's depressing

When our children are born we tremble at the thought of what lies ahead of them and wish we could clean the world before they had to venture into it alone

We've had our illusions destroyed just as did our parents and theirs

The United States or Russia?  Or any country which shrinks before the depravity of those who might stand next to us in a queue

The America of old was just as disgusting as its today but no society or community is exempt

As Stuart Wilde said, 'Not everything walking around on two legs is human'

PZ547,

Demons share and inhabit the psyche of many human beings.

Anyone who is a 'believer' of God's WORD, and believes Jesus testimony [in casting out demons] in the New Testament would not deny that assertion.

We can protect ourselves, from such demons, if we obey God.

Or rather, God will protect us, from such demons [EVIL SPIRITS], if we [try to] obey God.

Whereas, if we [willfully] disobey God, God will remove his [protective] spirit, from us, from our house/temple.

.

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

.

Love God, love God's righteousness [commandments/precepts].

Psalms 119:4  Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
Psalms 119:15  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Psalms 119:27  Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
Psalms 119:40  Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
Psalms 119:45  And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
Psalms 119:56  This I had, because I kept thy precepts.
Psalms 119:63  I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
Psalms 119:69  The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Psalms 119:78  Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
Psalms 119:87  They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.
Psalms 119:93  I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
Psalms 119:94  I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.
Psalms 119:100  I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
Psalms 119:104  Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

It is a tragedy that so many people today,     despise     God's WORD.

And count it as being of no worth [to them!].

Demons.

I would argue that it has been MUCH worse in the past.
They used to do horrendous things to people in the middle ages
Even as recently as 100 years ago people lived through 2 world wars and a great depression.
Modern times are actually far more civilised
It's just the media that we are swamped with 24/7 needs to have us permanently outraged so that we click on their articles

Adorno and Horkheimer are turning in their graves. I am surprised they are not yet banned from the New School curriculum. Or maybe they are. Too high brow, that Adorno fella especially.

The New School redesigned its mascot, Gnarls Narwhal, as a non-binary social justice advocate.
While other schools have canceled mascots over inclusivity concerns, The New School is using its own to promote university values of 'equity, inclusion, and social justice.'
