boom boom.

Daughter just told me this one.

Coronavirus, the only thing China's exported that lasts more tyan a month.   Grin

Hi Gordy,
how about an update on your family -
you said everyone was sick?
Hopefully it wasn't Coronavirus?

The 13 year old has been sick and off school since Friday a week ago, low grade temp, aches, pains, lethargy, dry cough. Doctor said could be Corona but probably the flu, but wouldn't pass the criteria for a test. No way I want to go anywhere near a test centre. Everyone else is fine.

Who said she wouldn’t pass the criteria for a test? Your family doctor?
How so?
I’m actually stunned to read this.

There’s a recent 14 yr old boy that was ill with symptoms, was tested numerous times showing negative until last test showed positive then that boy died soon after!

Why testing showed negative till end?

This is what seems odd about these tests.
And perhaps these tests are not accurate or suitable for children as this virus evade detection with children when being tested?
W.H.O. knows????

Wow!  You encourage your children to tell racist jokes.

How much worse can it get.

You bulk-buy & hoard at the expense of the less fortunate, and now you encourage racism among the young.

On top of that, you ignore social distancing rules.

FFS, this country is screwed.

I understand that you must have been o'seas recently, in contact with someone who has been oseas in the last 14 days,  or in contact with a known covid19 carrier.

Okaaay, I see, but..... there are person to person infections happening.
A week ago the figures for person to person was 100 in Oz.
Have no idea now what it is as number of infected rise.

I received a message to warn against petrol pumps where virus can spread.
To use a paper towel when handling pump.
And still wash or sanitize hands after.

In the theatre at Harbour Town, daughter said they were all wearing gloves and no cash money to be used, only tap and go.
And people were separated well apart with seating.

Another way to spread it, playing cards.
Poker anyone?

we just don't have enough test kits to test everyone

I don't know why they don't use blood tests, they'll show the virus as well.

It would probably be more than 100% accurate with blood testing?
Seems the types of testing used seems to not pick it up many times, sadly didn’t do so for that 14 year old boy until too late 😔

apparently blood tests tell us a lot more information. Not only if you have the virus, but it tells us if you've had it. if you have beaten the virus but were unaware you had it because you showed no symptoms. That helps with tracking the spread

any idea how much blood tests cost lols???.....it could also put extra pressure on the system.....when our system breaks down.... its then time to worry.....in the mean time I am thinking the govt would be getting the BEST advice there is....and are doing their best to contain this....if only our population could get  a dose of commonsense.....I am sure this would stop it spreading in a day. Sad Sad

tooo much to hope for.

Now that’s interesting!
Daughter caught something up on the Gold Coast mid Jan, height of holiday and tourist season!
Flu like symptoms etc.
Only slight elevation in temp. Lethargic.
Cough.
Can’t breath.
4 days duration.
Just before this virus news went viral (pun intended)

Says she felt ill after being in a crowded McDonalds restaurant right in heart of Surfers Paradise.

Odd to get flu mid summer I thought.

I will tell her to go get a blood test to see. Just for peace of mind.
