Having 2 weeks worth of supplies for your family is NOT hoarding!    It's common sense and what we have been advised to do.

Having you garage stacked floor to ceiling with toilet paper and your spare room looking like a mini mart is hoarding.

buying more than you usually buy is hoarding. There are people who can't get anything just  because morons like the bondi turd hoard.

I repeat.   Buying supplies for 2 weeks is NOT hoarding and what we have been advised to do.

Umm..who advised that?

Health authorities as far as I know. Seen on ABC news last month. I've done exactly what was advised, just buy a few extra things with your usual shopping. Let me google since you can't manage to.

With coronavirus now spreading through populations far from its origins in China, experts say it’s become a matter of when — not if — the outbreak becomes a pandemic.

By ABC medical reporter Sophie Scott and the Specialist Reporting Team’s Penny Timms

That means it’s now time for us all to start preparing, according to University of Queensland virologist Ian Mackay.

“We need to be aware that we are probably heading for that pandemic even if the World Health Organisation doesn’t want to call it that yet,” Professor Mackay says.
---

What should I do to prepare?
Experts say preparation, not panic, is what’s needed now.

“We need to think about whether you have enough medication and essential foods such as canned foods, some pasta or food that can give us fibre, carbohydrate and protein for two weeks, if things were to interrupt the supply chain of food,” Professor Mackay says.
--
Don’t forget to prepare for pets as well, with extra supplies of dried pet food and flea treatments in case there are shortages.”

But he cautions against panic-buying supplies or hoarding food.

“We don’t want to see empty shelves,” he says.

“We have time to prepare now by just buying a few extra supplies each time we shop, and set it aside.”

This is what I did and I'm sure it's what Gordon did. This is not hoarding.

NSW has certainly told people to prepare for 2 weeks.  I imagine all states have.

Some just prefer to bury their heads in the sand and/or be argumentative just for the sake of it.

They are preparing to lock down suburbs in Sydney and Queensland.  I wonder if our QLD members will get off their computers long enough to be prepared?

Well - with the fools having filled their larders, fridges and such, and their garages with toilet paper - I can now go to the shops and buy my small necessities - still a rush on toilet paper though.

Makes no difference really - if your fridge is full you don't go to the shops - if you want something, you can get it because the fools aren't there desperately trying to take it all.  A lot easier to shop without all the sheeples wandering around with massive trolley-loads.

Now they can self-isolate and the rest of us can shop freely for a change.  Remember at least 50% of the populace are below the median intelligence level, but I often wonder about that.... being in the top 2% myself I often suspect it is way out of kilter and there is some kind of accelerating fall once you drop below 100... once you reach perihelion, it's downhill all the way...on a steep slope.

Paid fortnightly - shop weekly or so - not much difference really.  It's a close-down, not a lock-down.  Silly when you cancel football matches and eating out, but still keep the shops open.... anyone in the shops could be in the pre-symptomatic phase and carrying a bug.

How are your lungs graps, can you get a 20 year old to shop for you?
