Same I have 70 rolls of toilet paper, but its because my parents went to Costco last year and dumped 100 on me.

Big family? Thirty rolls of toilet paper used in a year.

They like bulk buying. Toilet paper doesn't have a use by date, so I don't have to buy any for a while.

I bought 5 packs of 48 rolls back in November 2019 before I retired.

I gave a dozen rolls to my daughter & SIL a week ago they couldn't get any in B'berg - they have 2 young sons.

I have 2 packs left.

2 packs of 48 rolls = 96 rolls.
If there are 2 people in house, say uses approx 2 rolls per week?
That’s 48 weeks worth of loo paper.

I have 32 rolls at present, so 16 weeks worth for us.

As a rule I go once a day ... sometimes 2

the wife has been a regular 2 times

it doesn't take much to upset a stomach

maybe we have a touch of IBS?

Toilet paper is a big consumable in this household

and I'm a clean freak ..... no spit & a lick for me.  Tongue

Still no toilet rolls or paper towels at Rivervale IGA this morning (I still don't need any) although I believe the manager does have some "hidden away" for a few of the senior shoppers and disabled, etc.

Surely we can't be too far from the end of The Great Toilet Roll Panic Of 2020?

Someone on another forum summed things up rather nicely yesterday:

Quote:
While the stupidity, ignorance and greed of the hoarders appears to be infinite, their bank accounts are not.

Have to agree there.

The new rite of passage - get your own toilet paper, kiddies!   Like the Spartans used to send the kids out to steal food.

Keep away from exotic foods, then. I wonder how the calculator would work in the vindaloo-favouring communities....  Tongue Tongue

That’s the interesting point.
With all these amazing foodie places, take aways, drive throughs, etc
Is it any wonder the art of cooking has died!

Many will now learn the basics.
Googles:
How long till an egg is hard boiled?
How to cook rice? (Trick is amount water used)

I’m betting there will be many burnt meals, from being distracted on phone and walking away from stove top?

I do worry about the young adult gens attention span 🤭

The supermarket was good tonight -
they had: meat, vegetables, fruit, TP, soap,
canned food  etc.

Buy some oranges and make your own orange juice.  Better for you.  Wink

There's nothing healthy about  prepackaged orange juice.

yeah this is looking like "shortages" caused by non-deliveries not panic buying anymore.

Limited to 2 lt milk yesterday in our normal shop we get 4 so now we have to go to 2 shops or go twice.

I finally managed to get a 12 pack of TP today at Woolies, we were down to the last three rolls, and with looking after grandchildren who seem to use a roll at a time, it was handy to refill the larder.  However, it looks like the panic buying has shifted to the Laundry detergent aisle, nothing left except the cheap "used battery acid" stuff that cleans the interior of the washing machine better than the clobber!     Still lots of restrictions here, but as through the whole virus panic buying saga to date, never any real cause for concern.
