Hi Nail,
they said on 3AW that many dentists can't work as they have no face masks -
the hoarders bought all the N95 masks.

The surgical masks are only useful if you have a virus so you don't sneeze and spit at others !
People are buying the wrong masks !

Most people are morons.

most people are morons bobby.

i told karnal that he should kneel before his refridgerator and weep tears of joy because NOBODY who ever walked the earth for the preceeding 10's of 1000's of generations ever had a source of food available like that.

the availablility of fresh running hot and cold water.
the fact that most australians have never missed a meal.

the likelihood we could achieve a system like that is a FREAKING MIRACLE.

failure is the norm
hunger is the norm

success is rare, hard to maintain and fragile.

there is a cosmic law that if you dont appreciate things, they will be taken from you.

western christian capitalist males constructed this MIRACLE and the chodes who have never missed a meal dont appreciate that extrtaordinary effort.

they call for revolution and call for socialism.

they may get these things

they may get to eat childrens body parts like the marxists in russia in 1920.

hopefully they will come to their senses and bow before the noble capitalists that built this miracle and quit with the extraordinary ingratitude

We have always been susceptible to a worldwide pandemic.
How many will die this time?

Coronavirus crisis: The truth about the toilet paper shortage rumours

Rumours of a toilet paper shortage appear to be wildly overstated, with an industry analyst reassuring customers there’s no need to panic-buy the essential item just yet.
China is a key manufacturer of the world’s toilet paper supply and the industry is one of many hit by a general slowdown thanks to the coronavirus crisis gripping the country, sparking fears that Australia could be caught short.
But Tim Woods, managing director of market analyst Industry Edge, said shortages of anything were unlikely in Australia and stockpiling was unnecessary.

bloomberg

Hong Kong has been struggling with a shortage of face masks to protect against the coronavirus outbreak. Now it could be facing a run on toilet paper.

Toilet rolls were unavailable in supermarkets in parts of the city as posts circulated on social media showing empty shelves and shoppers lining up to snag rolls, fueling the latest shortage in a city that’s increasingly trying to isolate itself from China to keep the virus from spreading. Products from rice to hand sanitizer and condoms were also vanishing from stores.

Hong Kong’s leader has said the city will quarantine people arriving from mainland China, including city residents and visitors entering via its international airport.

The cause of the toilet paper shortage wasn’t immediately clear, but speculation was rife on social media about possible holdups involving the supply chain in mainland China. The city’s government said late Wednesday that it regretted the “malicious act of spreading rumours” caused shortages of products like rice and toilet paper. It added that steps to contain the coronavirus would not affect the movement of freight across the border.

Vinda International Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed toilet paper producer, said some of its mainland factories will resume production this week or next according to government guidelines, adding it had no plans for closures. The group said in an emailed statement that “tight supply” of toilet paper in Hong Kong supermarkets may have been due to leave taken by logistics workers over the Lunar New Year holiday, but that those people are returning to work. Vinda shares rose as much as 8% Thursday before closing little changed.

It's not just capital cities with the toilet paper hoarding problem. We went to buy some today and the shelves were empty. We were told the shelves were restocked this morning with 8 pallet loads and were empty by lunch time. Next restock due around midday tomorrow. I guess we'll have to go and fight for it then.

You'll need to take an axe with you - that will scare the hoarders away.

Australia's claim to fame

toilet paper panic

Grin Cheesy

eleven foot tall female stormed up huffing and puffing while the shop assistant was assisting me with something else

and began ranting about toilet paper

how she had NO toilet paper at home

'It's not fair' she choked

she claimed she'd seen 'some people' departing the store with 'stacks' of loo paper

Never mind the rudeness in interrupting

she demanded the shop assistant depart forthwith and get her some bloody toilet paper

shop assistant tried to reason with her .. because the loo paper shelves were in fact empty so what was the assistant supposed to do … mulch some newspaper and turn it into fluffy toilet paper pronto?

'It's not FAIR' screamed the giantess

apparently, according to the check out kid I spoke with afterwards, people had been taking 'heaps' of toilet paper through the self serve, passing it to accomplices and going back in to smuggle more through the self serves

Someone was tasered in a shop over toilet paper according to the media and yesterday there was something about a knife being drawn in a toilet paper dispute

Yet according to the news today, citing a Harvard expert, the death toll will be less than one percent

Guess the world desperately needs something to panic about

heaven help if Australia's invaded by a hostile force

talk about getting soft and entitled

In the wool boom of 1953 Korean war , people scavenged in paddocks for dead sheep to collect wool.  There may be mining rights at sewage treatment works for usable paper.
