Bats are getting the blame.
Then “dirty Chinese”
Then the Wuhan Lab.

We will all just keep guessing.

The real truth will remain hidden.

Sorry, but I’m very suspicious and dubious.

Things are never what they seem.

By the way, many other cultures eat bats also, and have done for thousands of years.

Like you, I'm keeping an open mind.. probably the whole truth will never surface.

The likely senario would be a spontaneous gene mutation, or cross mutation with other coronavirus like species since there is close contact between humans and animals.

I can foresee the following:-

Pharmacies limiting supply of necessary medications.
Workers in essential industries in barracks at their place of work.
Cessation of public transport.
Ban on all movement.
Ban on assembly.
Supermarkets operating on a card ID system like the dole card - once you've got your allotment, no more.
Petrol rationed via card.

Sounds like a world at war....

Now you see why I referred Hope and Glory... history repeating itself with different players.

Kinda reminds you of 1984 doesn't it? (Kinda makes you wish you'd signed up for submarines).
