So there is only an expectation because coles announced they would do it?

If it is for drought relief, does that mean they stop passing it on when it rains?

The expectation is there because coles (and woolies) said they would raise the price by .10c/ltr with that extra money going towards helping the farmers. Since they raised the price by .10c/ltr specifically for drought relief, i would think they stop passing it on when they stop charging it.

It was never touted as drought relief. It was charity from the beginning. The price is still higher, despite all the rain.

In August 2021, Newcastle Coroner Karen Dilks recorded that Lisa Shaw had died “due to complications of an AstraZeneca COVID vaccination”.

"The team at Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service have had to say "please stop" after donations of water and food flooded the station from generous members of the community."

Community halls were packed out with unnecessary supplies , Scomo needs some PR.

We, the relief network, had the same problems - sometimes over-stocking some places.  Now there is a bun-fight on because the focus is on the South Coast while the Mid North has people still living in tents and without power and shower... let alone a toilet.

Unfortunately, in any volunteer organisation, there are going to be warring factions and mixed priorities.

It's a job for Barnaby "The Faece of the North" Joyce. He does spill motions that pass through the House.

actually when it was introduced it was touted as drought relief

Quote:
Australia’s two major supermarkets will add a levy of 10 cents a litre on a special drought relief milk.

Woolworths has attempted to distance itself from criticism over milk pricing with its new private-label range that adds 10c per litre to prices for drought relief.

The new milk will carry a drought-relief label and be available in Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria in mid-October. “We’ll review drought conditions and how the range is going at the end of January 2019 and assess next steps with our milk suppliers then,” a Woolworths spokesman said.

I agree, the drought is over so they should remove the levy, but I also don't mind if they leave it as long as it goes to the farmers .

Went up to our local Kooyong Road IGA about an hour ago to get the newspaper, some bread and some milk.

I thought "I bet there still isn't any toilet paper here either" but just out of curiosity I had a look and I couldn't believe it when I saw about a dozen packs still on the shelves (they open at 7am and I was there at 9:45am) so I grabbed a couple. Felt so embarrassed as I went through the checkout and then to my car.

Even better was when I got home - the lady living in the other side of our duplex saw me with the rolls and asked if I could get her a couple as well as she was almost out. I said "I'll go back and have a look but I think there won't be any left by now".

Anyway, I went back (about a 3 minute drive) and I was shocked to see there were still about half a dozen packs left so I got her two - no way I was going to be an idiot hoarder and grab the lot. More embarrassment for me as I went through the checkout once again.

Still can't believe they had any - when I was last there on Thursday morning the girl on the checkout said they weren't getting any more till Tuesday when I was having a laugh with her about all the panic. Maybe everyone thought there still wouldn't be any there today and didn't bother to look?

Or, is the Big Toilet Roll Panic Of 2020 finally over?

lol... thanks. But, I also know most of our local IGA staff quite well. At least the ones working today are not the usual staff that work Monday to Friday (the ones I chat with the most).

Oh, the packs I got today were only 9 rolls per pack, not 48 like the hoarders have been grabbing.

Yeah looks like the pandas were hoarding and the ape was raiding her stash.

Funny thing is, probably just 6 months ago the pandas were in China using a bum gun and the ape was living in the jungle wiping it's arse with a banana leaf.

Now they're fighting it out for paper.  Grin Grin Grin
