Hows the panic buying going?

Coronavirus is causing massive panic buying of toilet paper!

When we used to go shooting out in the bush, if you needed a crap one had to use a stick so keep that in mind folks

Anyway I did buy a couple of big packs of toilet paper as they were cheap today, no other reason!

Have a read of this, Red. Tell us what helped Australia have less deaths then elsewhere.

From my limited observations, hand sanitiser seems to be sold out everywhere - that's for sure.

There was plenty of toilet paper and water on the shelves of the Woolworths store I visited this morning though.

I haven't seen any panic buying myself, but I'm sure there are idiots out there doing it.

As long as they don't get all crazy and start pushing in front of queues, they can do what they like.

I'm sure I'll survive by doing what I've always done (in regards to shopping).

It's actually really smart for many reasons to stock up.

Scenario 1: I/my family get a dose of it, being young and fit we'll be fine after 4 days but we've run out of everything so I need to pop up the shops because internet orders are taking days to get anything.

Although I'm feeling about 60% well, I'm still infectious. At the checkout I see Mr Red who is into his 70s and a much higher risk of death.
Poor Red, wishes both he and I stocked up.

Scenario 2, in about 4-6 weeks time I reckon this will be ripping thru the community. Someone in my family comes into contact with an infected person and my entire house is put in an legally enforced lock-down.

Home delivery from supermarkets is taking days. How can I get what I need to feed a toddler and a 13 year old? I'm sure there will be an emergency system in place, but as I've been quietly buying a bit extra for the last 2 weeks, I can be self sufficient for about 4 weeks.

Whilst I am making a bit of a joke of it, I fully agree!

And I did purchase a few items based on having stocks just in case!

Romans used a sponge on a stick , from a bucket of water. Cheap , renewable ( in the house and from the sea).  Woolworths will market them when a name is found . Loofer instead of loofah? The spare toilet paper goes over the mouth.
