I went to buy fly spray just now at Aldi and the fruit and veges and all meat gone!! All beer gone!!

I got 2 cans fly spray.
Oh and a mobile phone holder half price special!
But my biggest surprise, they had the kitty litter we usually get, so I got a bag of kitty litter! It’s heavy and nearly hurts my back lifting it up into trolley.
But yes, kitty litter I did get yay!

My family and I have stayed at home nearly all weekend as we all had a very mild cold, but I'll probably hit the shops tomorrow to replace a few basics. Not looking forward to it.

BTW it's better that people are all stocked up now than venturing out when the caseload is soaring.

Has anyone been able to get their fresh foods, meat, veges, fruit?
Everything in supermarkets by evening are bare as old mother Hubbard’s cupboard.

I don’t have to go to any shops for a while now. Skip the madness. Might get really bad?
We’ll see.

Interesting to hear and read reports from people from all over.

Just came back from my local Mexican restaurant.

Had the testiest meal ever, with all fresh ingredients.

Stop panicking, people: everything is gonna be okay.

I see - you like you Mexican meals like your women - Testy?

Grapp likes his women like his coffee: dark, bitter, and from a third world country.

I like my women like i like my wine. Cheap and white.

I went to two local supermarkets this morning and saw the parking lot of a third (USA): ALDI was sedate as usual for a Sunday morning and had everything but toilet paper and sanitizing products. The other, a traditional supermarket was quiet as well and seemed to have most everything but I noticed all the chicken was gone as well as every single potato. Of course the toilet paper was gone and anything containing bleach. The parking lot I saw was of a higher-end traditional supermarket with a Starbucks inside and lots of fancy prepared food. That many cars on a Sunday morning was a sign of panic buying.

A Walmart nearby had reports of long lines and fights the other day and had to close early for *restocking* and the next morning hoards of anxious people were lining up to get in. Rednecks mostly shop there - people who love guns, Jesus and Trump.

Just got back from Coles and Woolies - its' the same - stripped bare - no dunny paper etc

Do you have enough food for a lockdown?

Possibly - I would survive.

If there's a lock-down, you're allowed to go to the shops.

Don't listen to these little sissy bed-wetters, Bobby.

correctomundo!

Because I have had messages with my younger rellies in Italy since the lock down.
They can go to work and come home.
Go to doctor.
Food shopping (one per family)
Yes, they are very nervous about the virus.
So far my lot of rellies are okay.

The amount of effected people in a short time is scary.
Well over 21,000 now !!

I read that Spain is going to do the same as Italy and do a lock down.

My son just phoned me saying Coles in the Mornington Peninsula is totally stripped bare. He said every aisle had been raped! Nothing at all!
No fruit, meat, nothing.
Even the freezer department was stripped, only 2 packs of frozen chips left.

Why on earth would a supermarket bother to stay open with nothing to offer??

Sounds like either the supermarket management are incompetent or the Coles supply chain has reached breaking point already.

Must be a lot of panicky morons on the peninsular as well.

I went to the chemist's for meds and to Woolies to pick up a single bag of frozen veg for a stew, and was unable to move in the carpark etc and wondered WTF everyone was doing in the shopping centre on a Sunday...  Talk about sheep.

Trouble is - the same morons will be back today to do it all over again, and block the place up again.  A serious thinker would imagine that most had already over-stocked by now so things would quieten down - but not this lot.  Wonder where they're hoarding all their perishables?  I anticipate a lot of food in the rubbish bins soon.

Fridge/freezer here is full - but we've got two different 'families' using one fridge... with two different styles of eating.  Have to go up to the ex's daughter's caravan to get pot plants - plum tree, coffee plants with beans and such - we might have to get her fridge as well.... get into some panic hoarding ourselves...   Grin  Grin  Grin   Tongue

Still able to get all those here last Friday.

Maybe getting out of bed & going shopping in the morning would be the go?  Tongue

Haidee Janetzki, who lives in the city of Toowoomba, bought 2,304 rolls of toilet paper from an online service called Who Gives a Crap in February, Reuters reports.

Though she typically orders 48 rolls every three months, she accidentally ordered 48 boxes of rolls this time, amounting to over US$2,000 worth of the product.

Had I ever made the same error it would have only cost me $1,632.

Look how much I saved Grin

Mind you had I been purchasing the same product from Officeworks it would have cost $5,904 for the same amount of product.

Just making a living but ey?  Roll Eyes

Yeah well ..... no more crowds/gatherings of over 500 people from today .....

you'd have thought these nongs would realise that they are very likely to catch it in an overcrowded supermarket/shopping centre.

Especially with all the queuing & shoulder to shoulder jostling for bog roll.

Idiots.

In their panic to buy bulk toilet paper (which is totally unnecessary) they've put themselves more at risk of catching the virus.

Complete and utter morons.

They're literally too stupid to think of that.

Overcrowded shopping centres is exactly the sort of place to avoid, yet these morons lined up to get inside.

They queued up for a better chance of catching the virus, but hey - at least they have lots of toilet paper and rice.

Morons.
