I've been using my fridge and freezer space for the 2 families I've been buying for who are in the self isolation period after finally getting back home to Aus after being trapped overseas.

Next week I can hopefully buy some things for me and my family...

Got down early at Coles -
there were about 100 people in a queue.
We all got a pack of dunny rolls and
I got a large pack!
There was plenty of fruit and veges and I actually
managed to get a piece of rump steak and some sausages!

That's a nice way to start the day.
I feel like I've won a lottery.

That's good.
We all need to help each other.
I now have spare dunny rolls that I can give to friends.
Out of 5 friends I am in regular contact with, none
have been able to get dunny rolls for about 1 month.

People are buying up big.
The TV news said that Coles & Woolies have done the equivalent
sales of 3 Xmas's in a row in the last 3 weeks.

It's correct. And there's been panic hoarding of electricity with shortages for a week.

Harvey Norman freezers all have this:
Westinghouse 425L White Vertical Freezer
Due to unforeseen demand, stock is currently limited. Delivery of your purchase may be delayed, please ask your local store about availability.

Indeed.

Or, you can be selfish like Gordon and continue to panic buy & hoard with no consideration for people who can't get to the shop and/or can't afford to buy extra.

Pfft! If I had my teenaged days to live over again, I would apply for nightfill. They paid more than what I was getting for my first job.

Already did - I'm a mere snip of a lad at 70, but still pretty good... heart troubles aside... older people are more reliable and careful in their work....

If they can't get to the shop how would they buy anything anyway?

Good man - we've already got the ex's daughter and daughter here.... and two dogs and now one bird after The Great Escape.  This morning in the queue I spoke about the people who can't get out to the shops easily - not trying to make 'em all feel guilty or nuffin...  Wink

Some are sympathetic, but I KNOW every time I go to the shops, the same faces are showing... I only bought an 8 roll of toilie paper for the sake of it... when the door opened the first aisle full was the toilet paper, while I got some cheese and taco mix and spaghetti ....

They get the family who rarely visit these days to do it for them or with them.... works every time.. (no cynicism intended - not half)..

Do what I do: give them some of my groceries.

But no, Gordon and his fellow hoarders would rather keep it all to themselves.

Scum of the Earth.

Yep, just my word and the word of the little old lady next door (who struggles to walk long distances) who needed toilet paper and paracetamol but couldn't get any at Woolworths.

She has some now.
