My elderly mother always had flu shots, then she would have a cold and sniffle for a couple months after.
My daughter in law and I discussed it. She point blank asked me if I get the flu shot.
I said I never want any crap injected into my blood, expecting her to oppose it, yet she felt exactly the same, says her elder sister gets the flu shot then is always sick after.
Years ago, I would get the flu and would be ill for a good week or two.
I changed my diet, less dairy, less meat, less bread, less processed foods, no sugary drinks, less sugar, more vitamins and minerals, and fresh foods. More water with a dash of lemon.
Now if I get a flu, it lasts from beginning to peak to end about 4 days and not bed ridden, albeit I do feel lethargic, so I rest more.
I must have done something to help my immune system cope better and have milder effect.
Particularly as one ages, they say we should get the flu shot, but haven’t to date.
Should I worry?
Many years ago, before the advent of the internet, I read how 7 day Adventist’s would live approx 20 years longer than the average person, due to their meat free diet and other dietary reasons.
It’s actually very interesting.
Seventh-Day Adventists live longer and have 30% lower cancer risks compared to other Americans thanks to the religion's strict diet and lifestyle practices, study finds. Seventh-Day Adventists have a lower cancer risk and a longer life expectancy than the general US population, a new study suggests.Nov 27, 2019
Seven Day Adventists also allow themselves & their children to die from preventable & curable diseases according to their personal belief of what Adventism means to them.
Similar to Jehovahs Witnesses.
Interesting LOLS.
I do agree with the Stats.
But having a far less 'STRESSLESS' lifestyle goes a lot further.
Take the Buddhist Monks. Isolated up in the mountains 'away from the stresses' of the world - sure, they will feel the peace and calm.
But down in the real world, they've been forced to show their hand with a 'fist' at times.
There was another 'people' who ate a particular food in their diet as a majority staple and they too lived up in the mountains to a ripe average age of 120 years.
But over history, their blood was mixed with some Greeks (who apparently have the best diet in the world according to experts) and their pale skin, raven hair and icy blue eyes of lifespans reaching 30-40 years old by average. Then McDonalds and Coke came and all the 'stresses' of the world and they only live to their 80's now - like most.
Stress is the major 'ager', more than diets (especially when a QLD Doc/Researcher - recently proved that a blood test provides the most accurate 'diet' needed for the 'individual' because 'generic' diets can create 'problems' beyond the dieting. Makes sense, especially for people who have the Neanderthal or Polynesian gene, etc).
Cubans lived longer than Americans under Castro (unless they were USA supporters) - by a good 20 years thanks to a far 'healthier' Health system and Cuban 'lifestyle'.
That's right LOLS - Communists lived/live longer
