the govt. set a certain criteria, the doctor didn't meet that criteria so thought he was safe
this is what he says
Quote:I had a mild cold when I returned from the USA last Saturday morning, which had almost resolved itself by Monday morning, hence my decision to return to work," he said.
"I hesitated to do a swab because I did not fulfil your criteria for testing but did one anyway on Thursday evening for sake of completeness, not imagining for one moment it would turn out to be positive.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-08/coronavirus-gp-chris-higgins-hits-back-at...i think it's to easy with hindsight to say he shoulda, woulda, coulda ...
He was returning from overseas in a plane with who know what people from where .....
he should have been suspicious of having a cold & done the swab straight up ......
& as a doctor he should have had enough brains to fit his own precautionary criteria .... instead of saying he didn't fit "your" criteria.
To add to his laxness he left it a further 3 days before he was swabbed ......
if his cold had "resolved" by Monday why did he think he required a swab on Thursday.
Sounds like he's gone on the defensive because he's embarrassed at his own short comings as a professional.
Too farqking lax in a time when he should have been more vigilant.
Now everyone he has been in contact with has to be found & isolated.
Self isolation & quarantine is not working.
