Pack the car and take the family on a Holiday away from Shang-Hai (Sydney). Don't go near Mogadishu (Melbourne) and just head for the peace and quiet of the Outback. At least just go Rural/Country if you can.
It might be over in a month, but so could 50 million like during the Spanish Flu.

Prevention is better than a Cure and so what if the Shock Jocks on here and Radio/TV slam us if 'nothing happened'... but that's how 'PREVENTION' works.  Wink

Would love to. When they close schools, and I get the all clear, I think I'll go to the Mid Nth Coast.

Stay where your food and supplies are. Get a VPN so when you run out of Au netflix you can watch UK and US netflix.

So..good new. The child at my kids daycare tested neg despite both parents testing +.

The disappointing thing is I had no call from any health official offering advice about whether to self isolate. Obviously they're not on top of the situation.

The Corona advise line is still not working  Shocked

That will be Albo's fault.

There are a few things I'm critical of the Govt over. I think we should have totally closed the borders 2 weeks ago, but I this situation is unprecedented and even among top people there are divided opinions.

Not enough tests have been done, but that's about to change.

The first shipment among 100,000 new coronavirus testing kits were due to arrive in Australia on Tuesday night, alleviating a nationwide shortage that caused health authorities to issue strict guidelines on who was eligible for testing.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration fast-tracked onto the market the tests, which are able to turn around results in three hours and free up resources in the Australia's overloaded pathology laboratories. Unlike the existing tests, the kits arrive from the United States ready to go and do not have to be assembled in the laboratory.

Schit getting real for me too.

My youngest kid had contact with a confirmed + case.

I'm waiting for info about who in my family needs to be isolated but the people doing the contacting are swamped. The 24/7 hotline has a recorded message saying nobody can take your call, ring an ambulance if you're really sick.

The system is already falling apart.

Imagine if I didn't have a few weeks of provisions.

I am guessing local shops do deliveries?

Woolies had stopped deliveries and pickup.
Coles site isn't loading.

No need for deliveries, I had the foresight to stock up a month ago.  I don't need to burden anyone.

No rain checks at Coles and extra shelf packing staff being put on.

Surf not too bad in a couple of spots lately... the best break was going straight on to the rocks at Forster, though... Pebbly Beach.  Nice but takes fine judgement or you get a 100% skin rash .... watched the surfers struggling at the other end trying to catch anything worthwhile.... they could try the bombora in the harbour outlet channel, sanded up and breaks there all the time, but only in one spot.. great for catching unwary fishing boats....  Cool

Might go fishing meself... stock up on some good fish...

I love it down there. Friends live at boomerang beach. So many breaks in such a small area....and compared to goldy...no crowds.
Trechery's beach, lighthouse beach. Had some good sessions there. Also a little cove just north of seal rocks, can't remember the name if it but had to boulder around the headland to get there.... was worth it.

I think I'll self isolate up at lady musgrave. Go fishing and let the land dwellers fight it out. Good surf out there too.
Missus and kids have dry land to play on. Could work out well.

Unless your camp/caravan/fuel is ready and stocked for self isolation for 14 days, after the 24th March, NT going into lockdown.

Which State is next?

I reckon WA
