I’ve been on 8 amazing cruises and never had a problem.
Only gripe I have is with a huge 5000 passenger ship Ovation of the seas.
Way too many people, buffet was so over crowded that we decided to do a more private a la cart dining area instead. So peaceful, table cloths. Being waited on.
All other cruises were 3000 approx passengers.
I will never book a cruise without a balcony. Just in case. With what happened, and those on the inside cabins during isolation would’ve been stifling!!
Once this is all over, next on my bucket list is to do a river cruise.

Have you ever been on a cruise PZ ?

gee lols

you think walking up a plank and stuffing your face for a few days equals sophistication

Grin Grin

yes, lols

I have

but I'm not so insecure that I need to announce it on a open forum

are you from the outer west?

asking because so many from bogan regions equate getting on and off a ship after a few days of boganism with 'sophistication

although most of those stick to facebook thank goodness

I will spread my reply far apart like yours 🤗
.

I’m from the east.
.

I don’t stuff myself on cruises, in fact I’m so active I lose weight.
.

And as for announcing my cruise experience on a forum, only in light of all critiques against cruising, to explain, as I’ve cruised a few different liners,  I’ve never had any problems.
Just trying to dispel a lot of negativity.
.

As for the c-virus, not just on a cruise ship some people are infected, it’s all over the world.
Does that mean we shouldn’t travel the world now either?

There was a lot of bad mismangement

It should never have been allowed into Australian Waters, let alone allowed to dock.

You do realise those cruise ships kill people all the time through a variety of viruses

really? so you'll have no trouble telling me, with a link as proof, when  the last time someone died on a cruise ship because of a virus was?

you seriously need to stay of the drugs

the truth finally comes out

The Ruby Princess was the fault of the feds who failed to do their jobs
Quote:
Report finds federal government failings likely contributed to Ruby Princess COVID-19 disaster

Failings by a federal government border agency likely contributed to the deadly Ruby Princess COVID-19 disaster, a major report has found.

The scathing audit has exposed further errors from when the virus-plagued ship returned to Sydney last March and passengers were allowed to disembark.

And the review catalogues years of problems inside the Commonwealth department responsible for stopping diseases at the border.

"Several issues highlighted in this report ... are likely to have contributed to the Ruby Princess incident in March 2020," the report concluded.

The ABC has uncovered the 200-page probe from an independent Commonwealth watchdog that examined the role of the agriculture department.

The Inspector-General of Biosecurity report details how the officer who inspected the Ruby Princess did not follow protocols, including the "crucial error" of not interviewing sick passengers.

But the report makes clear the disaster followed years of missed opportunities for change, including a 2018 internal audit of biosecurity for arriving ships that was largely not acted upon.

"Frankly, if the department had done what it agreed to do, then the chances of a Ruby Princess incident happening were significantly reduced," Inspector-General Rob Delane told 7.30.
