Yes freediver

Ants bees termites will co-operate in their millions
But they all are genetic clones and share the same DNA

Humans are the only animal that will co-operate in large numbers even with people who don't share the same DNA

If you think back to that tribe of 100 people
You can see how trust and reciprocal arrangements were built
How the most powerful person in that tribe
Was not the person with the biggest club who belted the others over the head
But maybe the guy who could coordinate the other hundred into designing and using a Mastodon trap

Even further to this
When wolves bring down a deer
The alpha wolf eats his fill and then the other wolves in order

But say a human group of hunters brought down a Mastodon
And they had the foresight to bring back some of the meat to share with the tribe
Now they are building the idea of trust
The idea of trade
And the idea of markets
That currency becomes more important then having the biggest muscles 2 belt people with the biggest club

It seems like this idea of trust is crucial 2 what has advanced human beings.

If you look at a system such as perhaps eBay

From a purely selfish point of view
One would expect that the seller would sell dodgy items
And the purchaser would send a dodgy check

And when they started eBay there was expensive insurance to ensure this did not happen
After about 6 months it was all dropped
Because people generally are trustworthy
Even when dealing in groups bigger than 100
In fact from a capitalist marketing perspective
Trust is the basis of globalisation

Markets trade and global trust are the way forward

That's why ideas such as closing the Queensland New South Wales border
Or trying to eliminate the virus in Australia and go it alone
Are anti-evolution
They are a step backward
from that perspective they are doomed to failure

This is what, admittedly, makes your posts entertaining...

How you can meticulously weave galacticly separated concepts, make illogical leaps of association, to come up with a narrative that could be straight out of 'Yes Minister' or 'Monty Python'!

And all done, I'd bet, with a straight face!

Quote:
Government Sanctioned Suicide: Study Finds Coming Economic Crisis Could Lead to 831,600 Suicides – Or 13 Times the Number of Coronavirus Deaths

As reported earlier Goldman Sachs updated its economic forecast earlier this week and we are looking at a man-made catastrophe!

The economic crash we are looking at is Biblical in proportions!
The US unemployment rate will rise to 15% from 3% due to the current economic shutdown in place across the country.

A study by Goldman Sachs in the paper this morning suggests unemployment will be soar to 15% from about 3% this quarter.   That means  from 27 million minimum to 67 million maximum will lose their jobs in the next three months.

This is a catastrophe!  The pain, suffering and death will be immense from this man-made disaster!

According to this one study, at “1% increase in the annual unemployment rate, approximately 21 additional suicides per 100,000 of the population can be expected.”  If that’s correct, each 1% increase in the unemployment rate in the U.S., with a 330 million population, will lead to 69,300 additional suicides.

Based on the current predictions, those 12 percentage points could lead to an estimated 831,600 US suicides.
Recently the so-called “experts” cut down the total number of expected COVID-19 deaths in the US to around 61,000.

That means we can expect more suicides than coronavirus deaths in the US in the months ahead and possibly as many as 13 times the number of coronavirus deaths.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/04/government-sanctioned-suicide-study-fin...

According to the forum bedwetters ONE COVID19 death is too many...

But hundreds of thousands or deaths from suicide due to economic collapse forced on us due to shutting down our economies because of COVID19 is fine and dandy...

Dur...  Roll Eyes

Yeah dude but think of it this way

Most people aren't having an awesome experience of life
From my analysis most people are scared
From my analysis most people are tired

Hey I might be meeting a biased sample

But if I had to sum up most people I would say

Scared and tired
Frightened and exhausted

I truly don't see too many people walking around beaming and flourishing

Ok

Hopefully we can accept that

Now what does a covid shut down do to people's mental state
It amps up the fear
The mainstream media feed them nothing but fear
They are stuck in their little caves  and there's nothing much to do except feel fear
And that ain't helpful

What does a covid shut down do to motivation conscientious and industriousness
Surely North you know after you've been on holidays
It's hard to get up to speed
It's one of the reasons why I hate my mrs making me go on holidays
You just lose all your momentum
Laziness becomes an addictive habit
Existing becomes an addictive way of life
Flourishing momentum and leading a supercharged life?
That just don't possible when you're stuck in your living room 24/7

So my feeling is that most people are not living up to their potential
And the psychological aspects of a lockdown are going to have a much bigger effect on the future trajectory of their life then they realise
But if you're fat Steve or fat Janine
You probably aren't even going to realise it Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I remember a Billy Connolly quote regarding Queenslanders (probably referring to the south-east of Queensland)... 'I know they think they're like Californians... But really they're like Alabamans'

Chinese (Hong Kong) movie classic.

Life is Cheap, but Toilet Paper is expensive.

Kinda sums it all up in a way, that no 'conspiracy' clip can emulate.  Grin
