They will be saved without a doubt!

By who is the question?

Branson, Etihad and Singapore Airlines own over half of it, if they want to save it they should pay for it.

ScoMo should not bail out this foreign owned company with taxpayers money.

Qantas shares will probably go lower might be a good time to buy some when state borders are opened again.

Tourism makes up a huge amount of our economy.

The problem is that we might not have any tourists for 2 years or more.

Domestic tourism is worth $63 billion a year.

If Virgin isn't saved, that figure will probably become $6 million.

We can't have tourism until there's a working vaccine.

Domestic tourism, Bobby.

Domestic tourism will open up again in the next couple of months.

But, if Qantas are raping our arses, people aren't gonna travel.

Scotty from Marketing needs to act, and he needs to act now.

We need international tourism.
Our standard of living and ability to pay back
our enormous debt will be impossible without it.

We could end up as a banana republic
with 3rd world standards.

With Scotty from Marketing at the helm, that's very likely.

Companies think ScoMo will fork out the money like the ALP caved to every company for their 'redundancy' payment hand-outs.  Roll Eyes

Survival of the fittest. Maybe if Virgin's CEO's and Top Managers didn't take all the profits for their personal Bonus Packages - Virgin might not have to try and scab money from Taxpayers. Maybe they could survived this grounding period.

Ironic that those Companies and Industries that put contingency plans in place for yet another Economic Crash - are the ones still going great guns.

Sink or Swim. Sure a lot of business will crash, but it will be replaced by those who take the opportunity to provide a Business framework that can survive such Economic crises.
That evolution.

Burn the old down, release the new from it's ashes.

I very much doubt Virgin will be replaced by a Chinese alternative directly. Someone might buy all the Virgin planes and start a 'domestic' business up. The opportunity is there at least now.

The Chinese will buy the airlines and the hotels
and all the resorts -
they are just going to walk right in.

Not now. Besides possible Sanctions against them, the Chinese themselves will have a blatant and justified bias against them.
They will have to 'bribe' up big to make much headway back into the International Economic Arena.

I must admit. I've enjoyed watching the 'Old World' crash away into the past - all by a simple 'little' Virus that is as invisible as God.
I look forward to a better world made so by a Virus that has shaped and molded us.
It may hopefully cure us of over-population and over-indulgence.

Yes because scumo didn't want to pay goat beard Bransom his 15 million dollar a year pound of flesh to use the silly Virgin name and rightfully so. Also Virgin is majority foreign owned and we do not need another repeat of the Ford and Holden rent-a-job fiasco !!

What's Branson got to do with it?

I'm curious.

I was reading that Virgin was 55 Billion in debt..(I think it was)

This didn’t happen over night..

They have not paid tax in Australia for at least 7 years...

Why not?

QLD and NSW (i think) were offering them Hundreds of millions of Tax payers dollars 💵.. they still folded..

The company is owned by Billionaires and Foreign Governments..

Why didn’t they put their hands in their pockets?

How much were the board members siphoning off?

How many other Airlines have folded in Australia?

10, 20? 50?

Remember all those payouts the ALP made to Companies that just folded anyway. They took the money and ran!  Angry

F*uck Virgin. We don't want them planes bringing
diseased Corona Zombies
coughing into our country.

Good post and questions. Why should the taxpayer support this airline.

Was watching a clip of Sadhguru discussing Alexander the Great in India who may have died from cholera there...

'So you see', says Sadhguru, ' the mighty emperor came to India to claim it as his own.... and one, tiny, Indian mosquito and, pffff... The God-King is dead'...

(You have to imagine it in an Indian accent... Its true comedy!)
