A lot of self evaluation will happen/is happening.
No doubt some more robust types with drive will strive to get it all back to normal. But financially, people are feeling the pinch and won’t spend as much, which is probably why.... governing bodies want to make it cashless (due to many not having jobs, or money) and introduce all to have debit/credit cards to help with an increase in personal debt to keep the national debt low, and keep the whole economy buoyed.
Those that have been stood down in jobs, will feel devalued, and won’t go back to their usual job? Maybe a percentage will due to not having a choice regards to work situations.
Yet there will be more open work opportunities for others that found it difficult to find work initially.
I think overall, some negatives will become positives for others.
For instance, (and as an example,) our little online business for car parts has boomed last couple weeks! I would say it’s all local buying from Aussie local trades now.👍
Now that’s Aussies helping Aussies, it’s a win win really. A bit like keeping it all in the family, within our own boarders.
Now price hikes and price drops will happen!
So far I have seen products on supermarket shelves rise! I have seen other shopping items in large department stores cheaper than ever. And Aussie online shopping stores with big discounts too! Throwing in free shipping and/or returns.
Petrol prices dropping.
Electric cars will be the next thing to encourage spending.
I feel real estate will drop a lot more.
Interest rates will stay low, thus, why our government are borrowing the billions as it’s a good time to borrow with low interest rates, and why not?
Exclusive foods usually for restaurants are now being offered to the rest of us! It’s a bit like Christmas! 🤗
I wonder, what will prices be like when we go back to have a meal in a restaurant? I’m thinking it’s either way it could go. Perhaps cheap deals at first to entice and get people back in the habit, then prices will climb.
The pokies will never go bust, in fact it will open up and they always make money, besides, online gambling had increased hugely since all these closures! Forgot what the percentage stats was, but it was a huge hike!
I’m hoping people have taken up hobbies or generally doing neglected home repairs. When my daughter goes for her power walks, she sees a lot of home maintenance going on 👍
Not sure how picture theatres will go after this? People will be used to staying home watching Netflix now.
Anyway, predictions are guesswork. Some hits and misses along the way.
I do worry there will be a lot of shops and diners/cafes that may stay closed for good. After all, there were signs of many empty shops already occurring before all this c-virus event. Oh and travel.... not so much overseas as usual, and there will be huge discounted offers to entice. I think more travel within our Aussie shorelines are the go 👍 beautiful country to explore.
