Is America A Failing and Falling Empire?

The American response to the pandemic has been chaotic and tragic.

No coordinated direction, idiot half wits storming state capitols demanding freedom without human responsibility.

A sociopathic President who says everything and anything that he thinks sounds good in the moment.

Even US naval ships with mass infections.

A political culture with no new or creative ideas, so the Democrats nominate a Joe Biden who is not mentally acute and has no ideas to move the country forward to the future.

The USA seems like a country that is tired, ever angry and out of gas.

Is the US empire falling?

I am not happy to see it turn so tragic and idiotic, not one breath of me likes it. But it does make me angry. Because it did not have to be this way.

There are books comparing US and Rome with detailed similarities. The Capitol is "Rome showing-off" so yanks must be aware of the pattern. Kissinger (?) noted the unavoidable fate of world powers.

The country isn't failing, not by a lot shot. The American people are still amazing and world leaders at most things they put their hands to.

What is most definitely failing is their political structure.

Didn't know that the USA was an 'Empire' in the first place.
1st place belongs to Politics in the USA with 'Military' in 2nd Place.
Kings rule Entertainment like the Master of Ceremonies that they are (with the Court Jester to humble them).
Emperors rule Empires and all things Military and that belongs to the Middle-East.

USA is just a Sheriff, Cop, Judge, etc... not really a Soldier, General, Emperor, etc.

As for the 'Fall'? Well, the USA has been 'Falling' since it fled from the problems of Europe centuries ago.
Stating the obvious 'culture' here aren't we? Huh

Unfortunately America's star is waning. However they will continue to be a force in the world for generations because no other country can take it's place at this time.

And the reason is simple, America dominates global culture. After WWII they won a more important war, a war of cultural superiority. A war fought with movies, music and Coca Cola.

American culture became Earth's culture. American movies and TV shows set in America became known worldwide. New York, Vegas, Route 66, Bugs Bunny and Nike. We all know them.

No other country on the planet can match this cultural influence.

Good point, in cultural influence, soft power they are still supreme.

China just does not get how to do that, though she can spend a lot of money.

Culturally it is one of the most creative countries in history, no doubt.

And it must be added her art, TV, movies, music can be, the best artists, the most critical of American political structures and social failures.

I do think a capitalism which has created ever more inequality in the Western world at least (China does not practice capitalism, she practices state controlled mercantilism) is now with the virus under huge stress and cracking.

I mean we have a Liberal government who doubled Centerlink, they had no choice.
