we have shut down our economy to prevent the hospitals being overwhelmed and we have 1 patient in hospital with it.

the premier thought we had another case in central qld and dispatched 70 nurses to set up fever clinics but turns out it was a false alarm.

still, it was good for media headlines and media whoring for 48hrs  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
so maybe we could dust off those unused ventilators and send them to someone who needs them

No........ it wasn't a false alarm ... the nurse tested positive.

And the fact that those tested in the Aged Care Facility where she worked tested negative was a lucky thing.

She not only went to work & drove to Blackwater, she visited the CQ University Library several times.

It has been damned fortunate that she didn't create another cluster or epicenter.

So all in all your so called false alarm was a good thing, but being prepared was also the right thing to do.

"...it wasn't a false alarm"??? A guy was found unresponsive in his home after he had been off sick for chest infections for months. The cause of death was associated with covid19. The fiance was tested for the virus and cleared. Her business was closed and disinfected in accordance to sanitary policy.

But now, not only does this fiance have to deal with the loss of her partner, she might even be facing financial ruin because of the "false alarm". We in CQ have actually been debating this for a few days now about this young lady's situation. If she is able to get back to work, it is not clear about whether her business will be profitable. That is, unless the community make an effort to support her with frequenting her establishment.

It is not a good idea to scare the public. But at least Rockhampton and Blackwater residents have been acting with common sense about this virus hysteria.

So had the nurse spread the infection in Blackwater ... what then?

His partner is one of millions who have had to shut their businesses across the nation.

What's that Heart Foundation radio ad say about people who have certain symptoms that lead to heart attack?

It says if your not sure ring 000 ... what's the worse that can happen? A false alarm is better than not being around anymore.

Virus hysteria? ..... pfffft

Better safe than sorry.

Throughout the lockdown period her business may have closed anyway depending on what it was.

Had the nurse spread the virus in Blackwater, there would have been even quicker testing. People would have shown symptoms and would have been more readily willing to be tested for the virus.

But, as the news broke that Nathan Turner did not have covid19, the community was a little angered. Yesterday, the father of Nathan made his views known on facebook. He refused to talk to the media, as they would have manipulated what he said. But, now, the post had been removed and I cannot find it to copy and paste the announcement.

Nathan's fiance, Simone, had to undergo testing along with her co-workers/employees. Their business was shut down for disinfecting. Simone is at a loss for her business and her employees are not getting an income. I do not know what you are talking about with "had to shut their businesses" like millions across the nation. Simone was able to keep a business going during lockdown. It is only the pubs, clubs, cinemas and some restaurants that have had to close for the time being.

And it is a virus hysteria. We probably lost more people to influenza this time last year than we have to covid19. I doubt that it has only been 9 people in Rockhampton who have/had the virus. But, since most people around here with the virus are blow-ins, we might only have had a dozen or so cases. The hysteria surrounding the virus is amazing. You get a cold and then you are okay after 2 weeks.

That seems to be what the conspiracy theorists aren't smart enough to understand. Where ever covid-19 runs rampant, hospital systems and morgues collapse under the strain.

Is this conspiracy?

UK Gov't confirms Covid19 harmless to VAST MAJORITY of people

------

Is this conspiracy?

'We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal.'

We invented the ventilator, Aquascoot. Do you consent to having yours shipped off to the noble Gurkhas?

They usually leave beggars to die on the streets, so I doubt they put them into consideration or even into hospitals.
The reality is probably far worse. Maybe they only account for the 'higher castes' rather than the 'untouchable' castes left to fend for themselves. Hospitals are for the privileged in India.

And Whitey. I went to a superb public hospital in Mumbai once. Treatment, medicine, everything free.

This is what happens when hospitals are forced to deal with a pandemic.
