in a proper meritocracy, people work their way to the top and then they look for the next paradigm which consists of philanthropy and mentoring the next set of entrepreneurs.

that you cant have brokers at lehmann brothers making millions fleecing mortgage bonds whilst a welder from arkansas with a mortgage gets made homeless.
that isnt meritocracy.
the meritocracy has become corrupt.
but people are FINE with inequality as long as there is a fair chance for all.
no one hates the winner of a lottery if it is conducted fairly.
and entreprenuers like, say Jobs, who made the iphone.
most people think he deserves the rewards.
noone thinks Micheal Jordan doesnt deserve his billions. poor black teenagers save up to buy his nike shoes , happily
what a meritocracy needs is "equality of opportunity"
good schooling for all kids and then let the cream rise.
so, pour cash into education.
but the leftie universities are also corrupt.
smart aspiring black students are pushed into the humanities and end up with an enormous debt to the instiotution and poor job prospects.
how can you be an entrepreneur if you have a 6 figure debt and no health care.
there is lots of stuff that can be done to make the meritocracy fair but in the end a meritocracy is the only system that works.
you WANT the best plumber, massage therapist, IT nerd to be paid more then the worst.
it gets rid of the people who are rubbish at what they do.
and most people should be able to identify something they are good at.
like my illiterate mate who drives and excavator and owns 7 houses.
he climbed the meritocracy of plant operators.
trying to produce equality of outcome is catastrophic and wont work.
are we going to have 50 % female bricklayers?
50 % females joining the pipes on the deepwater horizon?
just give everyone a fair go.
drop the identity politics and let people find their niche
