Queensland police slam 'selfish' Victorians trying to sneak across the border

https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-victorians-caught-trying-to-sneak-...

Quote:
Police in Queensland have slammed "selfish" people trying to dodge strict border rules to sneak into the sunshine state.
It comes after a busload of Victorians were fined $24,000 for lying on their border declaration form to get into Queensland.
The group of six got out of the minivan and tried to make it across the border on foot but were stopped by police.

Will some of these idiots ever learn?

I wonder how many of them started screaming things like "I've got RIGHTS!!!" when they were caught?

Yeah, I'm sure they can tell us all about their RIGHTS but they wouldn't have a clue (or, most likely couldn't care less) about their RESPONSIBILITIES - which, at this time is to play their part to ensure that they're not potentially spreading the virus far and wide.

Keep catching and fining them, the message may penetrate their thick skulls eventually although I have my doubts.

That's the very reason I believe Anna should have kept the borders closed.

More clusters occuring in NSW as well.

They are as bad as the Muslim migrant waves through Europe & the Sth American migrant waves toward the USA.

Go away Lepers ..... ring the bell ... unclean unclean.  Tongue

I went to the supermarket yesterday.
I asked for mask to wear against Covid-19.
The lady said they don't have any and they have never sold any.
The chemist next door had none left.
I blame Daniel Andrews -
he wants us to wear masks but there aren't any.

We have an incompetent fool running our state.

Masks should be available everywhere – especially supermarkets – and to everyone.
You shouldn’t be able to go into a supermarket without wearing one.

So should toilet paper, but we all know how that worked out.

Yes - perhaps we have many people hoarding 100s of masks
while others have none?

The Govt. has had 6 months to organise enough masks for everyone.
They have failed.

The Govts. have had 6 months to organise masks for everyone at a reasonable price.
We have to do something different during this lockdown as
otherwise we are repeating the same experiment expecting a different outcome.
The last lockdown didn’t work and this one won’t either unless we
all wear masks when out shopping etc.

Wear your mask when you're doing online shopping too.  Just to be sure.

I'm getting tired of asking this question but what the hell is wrong with some people?

Fake 'park open' sign tries to lure Melbourne kids out of lockdown

https://www.9news.com.au/national/fake-park-open-signs-melbourne-trick-children-...

Quote:
Fake 'park open' signs targeting young children and unsuspecting parents have been found attached to council fences in Melbourne.
The signs, proclaiming to be issued from the City of Kingston Council, state children can use park equipment as "a strong immune system is the best defence".
In reality, all playgrounds in Kingston City council have been declared closed for six weeks by the state government, because of coronavirus.
The carefully produced fake signs mimic City of Kingston Council's colour scheme and display a ripped off official logo in the top right corner.
There is even a signature on the sign purporting to authorise the park opening from Kingston City mayor Georgina Oxley.

These would no doubt be the 'work' of the same sort of morons who ignore lockdown and social distancing rules, I'm sure. No wonder the virus is close to getting out of control in Victoria (for starters).

177 cases yesterday - what will it be today?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-13/victoria-coronavirus-covid-19-cases-rise-...

Victoria has recorded 177 cases of coronavirus overnight — the first time the state has recorded a daily total below 200 in three days.
Key points:

There are now 1,612 active cases in the state and 72 Victorians in hospital
More cases have emerged in aged care facilities
The Chief Health Officer said he couldn't be confident things were heading in the right direction until there was a week of decreasing numbers

But the state's Chief Health Officer, Brett Sutton, said Monday's smaller number was no cause for complacency and the peak may still be yet to come.

Of the new cases, 151 are under investigation, 25 are linked to known outbreaks and one has been detected in hotel quarantine.

Seventy-two Victorians with coronavirus are in hospital, including 17 in intensive care.

Premier Daniel Andrews said there were now 1,612 active cases in the state.

He said the lockdown in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire would continue "as long as it needs to".

"But it need not be there for a moment longer than absolutely necessary if everyone simply follows the rules and does the right thing," he said.

The lockdown will continue for as long as it needs to

To stop the hospitals being overrun
The original position of the goal posts

Or to attempt to get the numbers to 0
The new and ridiculous position of the goal posts

The difference in terms of the length of the lock down between those two positions is rather large
