So you do know how to post links after all

Your link is flawed though.
It assumes that because masks arn't 100% effective that they are useless which is a common logical fallacy.
Masks significantly reduce the chances to spreading the virus, but other measures such as social distancing still need to be adhered to

I read comments people write whist Dan A gives his 11 am update, and a few comments were about a 30 yr old female pregnant with twins is in a Melbourne hospital on a ventilator.
That doesn’t sound good  Embarrassed

It's terrible.

And, back here in WA, looking at this in today's West Australian doesn't exactly inspire one with confidence.

Quote:
Players from West Coast, Fremantle, Collingwood and Geelong are set to finish their 14-day quarantine this Saturday

Huh? the games were played last Thursday night and yesterday FFS. Would anyone else besides footballers be allowed out of quarantine early?

Quote:
... but with more Victorian clubs on their way...

Really? More? Are they also going to be allowed to play when they're not even halfway through their 14 day quarantine? Assuming they were even in quarantine to start with. I have serious doubts.

Judging by the letters in today's paper about the games that were played at Optus Stadium yesterday and last Thursday there are a lot of unhappy people here at the moment. And, I'm sure there will be a lot more when they find out more Victorian teams are on their way here.

Should I wear a mask while driving?

Mr Andrews says err on the side of caution and wear a mask whenever possible.

Yes, that means even if you are driving a car.

"It's not like police will be pulling over every single vehicle or every single person to check you are wearing a mask but err on the side of caution," he says.

"Err on the side of doing more than less."

Experiment.

Well - I tried wearing a mask while driving today.
I wear spectacles and they kept fogging up so that I couldn't see.
I tried putting the mask in different positions but
the air kept escaping from the top of the mask
& condensing on my spectacles.

I don't know what to do.
Maybe I could try another mask that might seal better at the top?

Here we go Bobby, you don’t have to do anything.
On the news tonight you do not have to wear a mask when driving in a car alone. Solved.

But.... if other people are in the car with you, then all are to wear masks.

That's great news but it's not what Dan said yesterday.
I watched the news all day and didn't see any comment on it.

OK - it's not any Govt. website I can find but it says here:

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/coronavirus/everything-you-need-to-know-about-melbo...

DO YOU HAVE TO WEAR A MASK WHILE DRIVING ?

If you are driving in a car by yourself or with a member of your household,
you do not need to wear a face mask but you should carry one with you for when you exit the vehicle. If you are in a car with other people for work or rideshare purposes then you must wear a mask.

You should not be advised of the law by the Herald Sun newspaper.
The Govt. website should be correct.
It shows that the Govt. can’t keep pace with the crap coming out of  Daniel Andrew’s mouth.

If your car has a pollen filter it filters air better than any mask if your windows are up

I replaced the Pollen filter in my Mitsubishi recently it's a pretty good cabin air filter.

I used a Ryco one much cheaper than original Mitsubishi part.

buy your ryco packs online ,

oil
fuel
air and pollen filters.

whatever the service schedule, do it twice as often.

they stretch the services now (especially the fixed price ones) so the car dies just after the warranty runs out.

new battery every 3 years so you dont get surges that wreck computer chips.

drop the coolant every 3 years so you dont have grit getting into head gaskets.

and run your AC on recirculate...it will last twice as long as you arent picking up dust in the intake and wearing the components

I wasn't even aware that I had a filter in my car.
I assume it was replaced with the regular service according to the book.

What a pity Dan Dan Covid Man wasn't so careful when he allowed private security to be in charge of a quarantine hotel without police present

how was that different from NSW you moron? All the states used private security guards.

Huge difference, moron.

Security guards in NSW were under the direct supervision of the police and ADF who were present 24/7 unlike in Melbourne where Dan Dan Covid Man let them totally in charge.

Victoria’s decision was different to that in NSW, the other state where a significant number of travellers also returned to compulsory hotel quarantine. In that state, police and the defence forces were heavily involved alongside private security. The system has had far fewer problems with outbreaks.
