And, after a 'false start' a week or so back, they're off and running again.

Supermarkets reintroduce buying restrictions after resurgence on panic buying hits Melbourne

https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-coles-reintroduces-buying-restrict...

Quote:
Victoria's announcement to reintroduce stage three coronavirus restrictions has seen a resurgence of panic buying.
There were long queues at supermarkets last night and shelves were stripped, prompting Coles to reintroduce buying restrictions just a day after it removed them.

Quote:
The buying frenzy began almost immediately following  Premier Dan Andrews' announcement stay-at-home measures would be enforced for metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire.

The rest of Australia won't be far behind.  Roll Eyes

I was at Coles last night at about 5pm -
it was packed with desperate looking shoppers -
everyone including me grabbed a pack of dunny rolls.
Shelves were being stripped of everything.

I wouldn't want to be working in Coles or Woollies tomorrow.

Oh look, I was right.

"Panicked customers have rushed to Coles and Woolworths in Melbourne as lockdown measures come into force.

"Stores across the city were stripped bare on Tuesday night as customers made a mad rush to stock up after Premier Daniel Andrews reintroduced stage three coronavirus restrictions.

"This is despite customers being allowed to shop during lockdown."

Victoria ... the place to be.  Grin Grin

What has proven ironic in this virus ramp up in Mexico is ... that finally big nose big mouth Gladys has had to shut the NSW border with Victoria.

I think Anna should have a rethink & shut the border with NSW again.

People panic buy toilet paper because they have lost confidence in the system
If Australia had a gun culture people would currently be panic buying guns
If people lose faith in the stock market they get rid of their stocks
If people lose faith in the banks they q ueue up to try to get their money out

So we can tell by this action that people have now lost faith in our leaders

This is not surprising because the leaders are being dishonest with the people
The leaders are telling the people that we just lockdown and then we emerge and return to normality
This will become evident as a lie over the coming months
The virus is going nowhere
The virus is super contagious
A vaccine is no panacea
There is no treatment

if the politicians wished to restore faith in the system
They would tell the people that this virus is not a species ending virus
And for most people will result in a minor illness

But they didn't do that
They have made it into something much much much much bigger than it is
Hoping to score political capital by solving the problem

Well the swedes are quite and intelligent people
And they decided early on there was no solution
And probably their population is not panicking
And probably there population is much much closer to seeing the end of this than Australia

These outbreaks and lockdowns will continue 4 weeks months years until eventually the Australian people and our politicians wake up and face the reality

you have all been delivered a letter from the tax office that you are going to be audited
You can put that in the bottom drawer and try to isolate it
And put it boundary around it and social distance from it
But it's still there like a ticking time bomb
And it is your destiny that you will have to face up to it at some stage

Grow a goddamn spine and face up to it now
And put this ridiculousness behind us

First sensible thing I've seen you post all week.

There was a discussion about this here a few months back when the panic buying was setting in and businesses and shops, etc. were being closed.

Funny how Greg was being attacked at the time for saying that the closure of gun shops here in WA was a great idea because it would stop all the gun nuts from stocking up with guns and ammo in the same way that nearly everyone else was stocking up on toilet paper and pasta, etc.

Edit: I don't think he actually said those words about why it was a good idea (sorry, Greg) but the reason why he (and myself and no doubt quite a few others) thought it was a good idea was obvious.

He was absolutely correct as anyone with half an ounce of intelligence would have known.

Guilty of what? It's not the government's fault that some people are complacent morons. Shopping in large groups, holding large parties, a bush doof with 1,000 people. None of this was encouraged by the government, state or federal, so why blame the government for the actions of stupid citizens?

He's a Labor Premier, so they'll find something.

In the beginning, he was guilty of not closing quickly enough.  Then guilty of not opening fast enough.  Then guilty of not punishing Muslims enough.  Then guilty of being too harsh by locking down the towers.  Then guilty of not being harsh enough with not locking down enough and now guilty of locking down too much, he should just let it run its course.  He's also guilty of trying to save his economy by working with China who have to be the enemy because of Trump.

It's the same mouth breathing logic over and over again from the usual suspects.  I'd love to tell the people complaining at anything and everything along political borders exactly how I feel about them but it wouldn't really achieve anything at this point, nothing positive anyway.

Those who are trying to drag him over the coals for his latest apology and "screw ups" were the same people advocating for him to act in the opposite direction for which they're complaining about him now which would have lead to even more problems and more for them to complain about.

They're not worth your time.  The more you deal with them the crazier you realise they are.

At the same time they argue that the virus is harmless, nothing but the sniffles but it's being exploited by the Global Deep State Cabal while it's also a deadly virus made by China from a lab in Wuhan to spread throughout the world killing 100,000's of people and ruin their economies at the same time to help with the trade negotiations against Trump and ruin his Presidency and help the Democrats win in November.

Daniel Andrews is repeating the same experiment
expecting a different outcome.

We really have no chance whatsoever of stopping this virus while this sort of thing continues.

Passengers from Melbourne leave Sydney airport without COVID screening

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/passengers-from-melbourne-leave-sydney-airpo...

Quote:
A planeload of passengers from Melbourne were allowed to disembark at Sydney Airport on Tuesday night without undergoing health screening for coronavirus.

NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant confirmed on Wednesday there had been "an issue" at the airport, which saw passengers allowed to disembark and leave the airport while health teams were occupied screening another flight.

Unbelievable. You'd think that while the 'health teams' were occupied elsewhere someone else working at the airport would have arranged for these passengers to be detained until they could be screened but I'm prepared to bet there was a healthy amount of "not my job" comments passed around (assuming they even bothered to give it a thought).
