That's all they were ever trying to do, and it has worked very well (in most states).

The battle has not been a waste of time - it's been very successful.

The situation is hopeless.
We cannot avoid an airborne virus.
Eventually it will get us all.
people just can't accept reality -
they live in a dream world
where whatever they think is the truth.

Nah...... that's you in a nutshell.

All you are is the forums Henny Penny/Chicken Little.

No - do it now before we have no economy left.

Everyone is back at work here in Perth, and in most of the country.

Melbourne will need to remain locked down for a few weeks until the curve flattens.

They'll be back at work soon.

Many of them are working from home anyway.

Back at work in other parts of Australia but
with no masks to slow the spread.
What's happened in Melbourne will happen to
the rest of Australia.

Yes, I think you're right.

Especially here in Perth where we're having football matches (with Victorian teams) attended by 30,000 people at a time. Absolute madness.

I have masks at home and at work - I think we'll all be asked to wear them eventually.

yes - make masks compulsory all over Australia.

Bullshit.

We're winning it in WA.

The virus has slowed right down.

It's slowing down in many countries.

It's not a useless battle at all, and it's working quite well in most many places.

Coronavirus:

Australia could have up to 500,000 secret infections

Yes.

Imagine how high that number would be if we hadn't successfully fought to slow it down.

Just look at America for the answer.

Greggy,
as unpleasant as the truth is -
we have to accept death -
that could be me or even you -
many people will die from the virus
and all we can do is slow it down.
The promised vaccines may not work
and will arrive too late.

You can't make up your mind

you flit from one position to the next like a fart(or virus) on the wind

& just like a fart on the wind this virus will be slowed right down if people just do the right thing

which it seems at this stage is something so many idiots can not do.  Roll Eyes

Stop talking about farts - you crude foul mouthed idiot.
Yes - I changed my mind after reading that article.

Australia could have up to 500,000 secret infections

maybe thats a slight exageration.

but just the cluster from that one thai resturant in sydney has now reached 77.

masks etc might slow it but this thing is , to all intents and purposes , going to continue on its merry way.

ian fraser (and aquascoot) were correct.

this is highly contagious
many people are going to get it
the good news is that , if we dont overun our hospitals most people will be fine.

victoria has about 1500 ICU beds and 70 people in ICU with covid.

no need to panic.

isolate the nursing homes
treat them like hotel quarantine.

everyone else, use your brain.

but even at 500 a day bobby, thats 50 YEARS before every victorian gets it,

so, short of a vaccine, we are about 100 m into a marathon.

steel yourself
get fit and build your awesome immunse system by eating your salmon and avacado salad

Looks like that stupid woman at Bunnings was also busy somewhere else.

Bunnings mask woman seen arguing with Australia Post staff in new video

https://www.9news.com.au/national/bunnings-woman-refuses-to-wear-mask-unacceptab...

Quote:
New video has emerged of a woman in a confrontation with Australia Post staff over the wearing of a face mask in Victoria, believed to be the same person responsible for refusing to wear the protective covering inside a Bunnings store in Melbourne.
The clip appears to show the same woman complaining about the wearing of the mask while being served inside the Australia Post store.

Seems like she's just looking for attention, doesn't it?

Definitely something wrong with her.

I feel sorry for her family - she must be hell to live with.

You seem to want things to be overrun before any actions are taken.

And you're assuming the only action that the Government is taking is closing the border to Victorians.

This isn't the Trump Administration, not everything is solved by doing only one thing, in his case tariffs.

Closing the border in the manner they have won't stop the virus coming here, but it might at least reduce the number of sourced early on, but the moment it starts transmitting through the community we'll be in worse shape than Vic and NSW.

There are too many people not observing proper social distancing at the moment even on the Gold Coast, and this is the normal people, not those advocating for the things you do.

I don't look forward to our next lockdown, but until people take it seriously and realise that the virus is still with us and will be without a treatment or vaccine for months, even years we're going to have ever-increasing follow up waves.

People like you Scoot, no matter how much you backtrack your claims and more importantly your intentions, aren't helping.

They're the ones recording their experiences to make a point, they're not the only ones blowing up.

It's like the Sovereign Citizen bullshit.

An Australian woman living in Singapore tried the same thing.  It's highly embarrassing on an international scale but it is what it is.

The difference is, they don't mess around there.
