really, why then is the qld border closed to victorians when we have 1 active case.
are we "over run"
what is the long term strategy?
pretend we will never see it here

.
You seem to want things to be overrun before any actions are taken.
And you're assuming the only action that the Government is taking is closing the border to Victorians.
This isn't the Trump Administration, not everything is solved by doing only one thing, in his case tariffs.
Closing the border in the manner they have won't stop the virus coming here, but it might at least reduce the number of sourced early on, but the moment it starts transmitting through the community we'll be in worse shape than Vic and NSW.
There are too many people not observing proper social distancing at the moment even on the Gold Coast, and this is the normal people, not those advocating for the things you do.
I don't look forward to our next lockdown, but until people take it seriously and realise that the virus is still with us and will be without a treatment or vaccine for months, even years we're going to have ever-increasing follow up waves.
People like you Scoot, no matter how much you backtrack your claims and more importantly your intentions, aren't helping.
no we should run the economy at the throttle setting that allows maximum engagement whilst monitoring hospital admissions.
with masks and social distancing and personal commonsense PLUS a complete quarantining of aged care facilities PLUS elderly and vulnerable people not is nursing homes voluntarily quarantining, you may nearly be able to open up to a very great extent.
if its young people going to pubs and clubs and resturants and on holidays, then what happens
the economy is strengthened
virtually none of them end up in hospital
and we have cash to pay aged care workers to be ultra cautious.
if we use this broad brush, one size fits all, we have
a ruined economy (and no ability to pay for hip replacements and personal carers for the elderly)
probably more people in hospital (and the elderly will be there a long time and will infect many workers and so spread it)
and we demolish young peoples careers.
plus we just draw it out.
isolate the elderly CLEARLY THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED
stop wasting police and preciious resources putting 20 yo's into quarantine
and keep it out of public hospitals as much as possible.
create a team of specialised doctors and nurses to treat people at the nursing home
dont be driving infected people all over the countryside thru major public hospitals and infecting everyone along the way
and dont let doctors nurses cleaners and aged care workers catch public transport or go to any public place.
