Stark warning as multiple young Victorians battle virushttps://www.9news.com.au/national/young-people-infected-with-covid19-fight-for-l... Quote:Twenty-six Victorians aged under 40 — including 10 people in their 20s — are battling coronavirus in hospital.
Five are fighting for life in intensive care with Premier Daniel Andrews warning some may not survive.
The premier posted a stark tweet tonight saying the new figures showed coronavirus was not an illness that only affected older people.

et al., please take note.
that may be a game changer.
for my philosophy.
i know that in south korea, amongst 30,000 confirmed cases in under 30 yo's there were no deaths.
if people under 30 start dying, then does that mean the virus has changed ?
i would be interested to know if these were young people with pre existing issues or not.
if it starts killing kids , i would rethink lockdowns.
whilst i have had a good life and consider i have achieved most of what i want to achieve i would be devestated if my child or grnadchild died
Why must "death" be the only measure?
How about the number of under 30's that require hospitalisation?
Since you're so fond of saying it's just the sniffles, wouldn't it be prudent to then consider anything more than "just the sniffles" be something that may sway your opinion?
i would say, a lot of parents are very concerned their kids could be facing 18 months of stress related to school closures, university disruptions, job losses, no ability to play sport etc and 18 months of that is a lot of suffering.
now a week in hospital (provided there was a full recovery) would be preferable (in my opinion).
but death is somewhat more drastic then a recoverable illness for a 17 yo.
death is not a drastic occurence for a nursing home resident.
the nearness of death is sort of the criteria for being there in the first place.
tell me sad, do you find the death of a 90 to be as tragic as the death of a 17 yo.
i am trying to decide if i am a weirdo because , i just dont see it
