It's the citizens of Melbourne who are to blame.

You became too complacent.

Do as you're told, and stay inside.

Don't throw big parties.

Don't have orgies.

I blame the security guards. They have been criminally negligent.
It's interesting though listening to the LNP supporters saying that he shouldn't have relied on a private company he should have used public employees.
Kind of goes against their whole ideology

I agree. Imagine being paid to guard hotels full of people at risk of carrying a virus and instead choosing to sleep with them.

the guards found guilty should face criminal charges.

You're a walking contradiction Bobby.  You want to attack anyone who agrees with the lockdown as doing the same but expecting a different result,

Then you incorrectly attribute that to Einstein but that's a story for another time.

The lockdowns worked, they flattened the curve.  That's the result they want, they want the same result.

It was the social distancing after that which has lead to this, or, more accurately, the poorly enforced and even more poorly practised social distancing that has lead to these hotspots.

It's not helped by an entire arm of the media, even locally in Australia (big ol' bugger you to Sky News) that are devoted to challenging and discrediting via deception the accepted medical research, conclusions and advice despite it negatively impacting their older audience the most.

Then there are the public figures spreading conspiracies and false information about the measures taken, like using a mask, staying at home weakening the immune system and the plethora of other flat out wrong information that their supporters and fans are too stupid or lazy to check the authenticity of.

And as for your video, there have been many simulations done and the reliable ones that shared their methodology and opened themselves up to scrutiny all require at least an 80% uptake in the population wearing masks for the effect to be the same as a full lockdown.

That's right, we can avoid lockdowns by wearing masks on top of proper hygiene and social distancing, who would have thought?  We have the power!

But too many people, the people on your "side" bobby, are fighting against it, here and especially in the US, the former leaders of the free world.

You're just not making any sense anymore.  You've put yourself in a bad light.

At least we have had some national leadership in Scomo.  It's not perfect, but boy is it better than the US.

But still, armchair critics and those with vested interests are proving that we can't, as a people, be trusted to socially distance properly and wear masks etc rather than going into lockdown.

It can't be done.  There are too many people like Scoot and Rich within our population, especially here in QLD bugger me..........

When we have a hot spot it will be much worse than in Victoria/Melbourne, so I hope none of my fellow QLDers are laughing at them.

We're all in this together.  Hopefully, the rest of the country can see and learn from this and take their personal responsibility seriously.

But that's my greatest fear.  My families survival and prosperity are tied to my fellow Australian's not being selfish and doing the right thing.

Nightmare fuel.

I've been compassionate and considerate of others all my life.  I know how many people are NOT like that.  The "vast majority" isn't adequate to describe it, not even close.

And with social media and the era of the influencer, flap me...  People are more selfish and even dumber than ever.

It's so shocking that someone of Scoot's vintage acts how he does, but some people are just rotten to the core, it doesn't matter their age.

We need to be together on this, not being a front bottom for front bottom's sake...

Einstein was right.
The lockdown didn't work and within 4 weeks
of reopening we'll have a 3rd wave.

Both the rooter and the rootee should face

Daniel Andrews is repeating the same experiment
expecting a different outcome.

Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying,
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results."

hi bobby

dan and sad skippy think i'm satan but Professor Ian Fraser is a lot smarter then them

Renowned immunologist Professor Ian Frazer says it could take more than a year for COVID-19 to run its course in Australia, and most Australians will be exposed to the newest coronavirus.

"In my lifetime, I can count seven new viruses that have arrived and we don't have vaccines for most of them yet. This is quite a common event in human history, a plague if you like, of a new virus," Professor Ian Frazer said.

Professor Frazer helped create the HPV vaccine that helps save millions of women from cervical cancer around the globe, and was named Australian of the Year in 2006.
He says many of us will contract a mild version of this coronavirus, but most of us will survive. He said if the hospital systems aren't overloaded we should be able to save lives.

"This is a fairly infectious virus and I think it would be highly difficult to contain it even with all of the measures that we're now putting in place in Australia," he said

"This is not something to panic about, this is something to accept and get on with life and make sure we are ready for whatever happens. The good news is if we can slow the epidemic down with all this social distancing and hand washing," the professor added.

All we need is social distancing and the compulsory
wearing of masks when outside the home.
It would also be great if hand sanitiser was in the front of every shop and all public places.

Andrews government guilty of 'alarming incompetence'

Sky News Australia

Now is the time to get rid of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and bring back someone who knows how to run the state responsibly. according to Sky News host Alan Jones.

“If Victoria were a company, because of its bankruptcy, financially and intellectually it would be put into liquidation,” he said.

“Call in administrators," Mr Jones said.

On Wednesday Premier Andrews confirmed 134 new coronavirus cases in Victoria in the past 24 hours, 75 of which are from public housing towers across Melbourne.

It comes as Mr Andrews ordered everyone in Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire back into stage three lockdowns, warning Victoria is on the “cusp of a second wave” of the killer coronavirus.

“Are we seriously saying we are asking the mob who caused the problem to fix the problem.”

"And now, as a result of alarming incompetence, a social and economic disaster is on our doorstep,” Mr Jones said.

i heard that Mr Andrews put the security contract on the hotels up for tender.

the winning company then on sold the contract, for a lower price, keeping 100's of 1000's in profit for doing zip.

the second company then onsold it again, keeping 100's of 1000's for doing zip.

finally some blokes were employed on 20 bucks an hour cash in hand who had no experience.

at the very least the tax office should look into this incompetant and illegal mess .

The military were called in to help but Dan says no, so the military left.

That’s was a mistake, just one of a few bumbling mistakes.

Let's hope after 6 weeks that we don't get a third wave

You might be the only one left in Victoria soon, Lols.

Looks like everyone's been trying to get to New South Wales or South Australia.

Coronavirus Australia: hours-long queues as more than 50,000 cross NSW-Victoria border after closure

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/jul/08/hours-long-queues-as-more...

Hundreds flee Victoria for SA ahead of midnight border lockdown

https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-border-lockdown-victoria-south-aus...

Another big mistake governments keep making - giving people the time to do things like this before closing borders and imposing lockdowns.

Expect to see more outbreaks of COVID-19 in NSW and SA very soon.
