i heard that Mr Andrews put the security contract on the hotels up for tender.

the winning company then on sold the contract, for a lower price, keeping 100's of 1000's in profit for doing zip.

the second company then onsold it again, keeping 100's of 1000's for doing zip.

finally some blokes were employed on 20 bucks an hour cash in hand who had no experience.

at the very least the tax office should look into this incompetant and illegal mess .

Only public hangings will save Victoria.

The military were called in to help but Dan says no, so the military left.

That’s was a mistake, just one of a few bumbling mistakes.

Let's hope after 6 weeks that we don't get a third wave
within another month -
people are losing patience.

Agree.

I had a big sooky lala cry baby day yesterday with that 6 week lockdown announcement.
Hubby and I went for a last hurrah drive to see our son and his wife down the peninsula.
Was a beautiful day today. Sun shine and cloudless sky. Sea breeze.
Mad sea gulls everywhere around people ... my son said they (seagulls) will be missing people soon with lockdown. No smacking chips again!

It was difficult yesterday to get a pre booking for lunch as places were booked out or not answering phone.
But we did get to go to the pub.
Then my son’s wife gets a call this morning as she (and other casuals) we’re urgently needed to come into Woolworths to work due to extra customers shopping (panic buying).

Was happy to go for over an hour drive.... next 6 weeks will be very short drives to IGA only 😠

Another big mistake governments keep making - giving people the time to do things like this before closing borders and imposing lockdowns.

Expect to see more outbreaks of COVID-19 in NSW and SA very soon.

That’s incredible! 😮
Well maybe that might be a good thing, just me, and Bobby Magee 🤗
So I’m expecting peace and quiet from tomorrow?
I refused to go to supermarket today, but would rather wait till things settle so I can have supermarket all to myself 👍

I learnt from the first lockdown, not to panic or worry food will run out.
Not stressed but feel anxiety instead, I haven’t been to Qld nor seen my daughter since early March.
Feels strange not being allowed to go there.
I hope it all works out soon. I think it will.i

Indeed Bobby indeed
Here is how you should look at coronavirus

If you are under 50 it is less of a threat than the flu so you should give it the same sort of attention you gave the flu season in previous years
Probably very little

If you are over 50 then you need to realise that you have a 1 in 2 chance of contracting a semi fatal cancer
And that is going to completely blow your mental state
Coronavirus for the over 50 year olds is probably a 1-in 100 chance of death
and probably the whole terrifying episode will be over in a fortnight

Think of how much less anxiety provoking coronavirus is when compared to being informed by your doctor that you have a carcinoma of the pancreas
or there is a spot in your brain that is growing
All they have just discovered cancer in your liver

Now that is going to be something truly anxiety-provoking

So use the coronavirus as a little warm-up exercise for dealing with the inevitable medical catastrophe that awaits you
If it's not cancer it will be dementia
Or incontinence or blindness or some other catastrophe

Coronavirus is merely a opportunity to practice tackling medical threat head on and realising you are the sort of creature that is resilient enough to tackle medical threat head on

Because believe me when the doctor tells you you have cancer
Hiding under your bed
Locking yourself away from the world
And thinking that you can maintain immortality that way
Is going to be a very stupid strategy

Working down Eden way yesterday and I heard the 'commotion' even among the populace.
Up in Merimbula - some Victorian was 'infected' and spreading the Americanised Freedom around.
Apparently, he took the test in Victoria, but didn't adhere to the 14 day isolation period. Within days, he nicked off into NSW and the final Test came back 'Positive-Corona'. The same day, I drove all the way to Bega and still felt the 'vibe' in the people there.

...the Panic and the Anger of the people. I think they got the guy, the Police I mean. He had attended 'high-gatherings' of people around Merimbula.

But hey, at least we haven't run out of Coffee!

I must admit that Australia has found a new empowerment culturally through the Medical Industry. Many nations look to Australia for the lead in this. We have come up with many great Medical innovations. During the first Global Wave, even China made every effort of sharing info and paying respect to the Medical side of Australia and it's people.
But just not the 'Political' side of Australia Wink
Medicine can be a great 'Economic' direction for this country. New innovation under a new type of adversity.
Many businesses have converted their factories into production of Medical equipment. God knows, the World needs it.

But I also must say, like Sport and Music - it's the Medical 'Women' who are the Alpha here in Australia, not the Males.
(Bojack will dissagree here Wink His credentials are at stake  Grin - but hey, he doesn't offer much here anyway  Wink)

If you really want a World Leader Medically and in the Alpha 'Male' way - which the World really wants to see. You must go to New Zealand (Oceania) - where they really do 'culturally' put Medicine before Politics (Alpha Female: Jacinta).

In NZ - if you take a fall in a supermarket. You get the best Medical care, not a lawsuit of $$$ to spend on drugs and alcohol.  Wink It's a quick fix solution that doesn't allow Lawyers to exploit. When it comes to WH&S, etc - they are far better than us and even their witches-hats are double the size of ours on the roads.

Anyway, well done Australia (especially the Alpha Medical Women, in the face of the Alpha Political Men).

...as you can see, the American Freedom to Disease - has somewhat crept into Victoria like a group of North Americans running the Eureka Stockade.

In essence, Australian 'Medical' Male is nothing more than a Dr Who in a 'Political' Police Box called Sahul: trapped in 40,000 years of time warp.

New Zealand & Oceania is the real deal with Medicine.
They will lead the way for the World.

...if it gets really bad here with Corona and drafting for USA agendas. I reckon I'll 'boat' it to the Cook Islands.  Wink

One day after a negative coronavirus test, this 23yo Melbourne man was in emergency with the virus

Quote:
A day after testing negative to COVID-19 and feeling healthy, Melbourne youth leader Ahmed Hassan was in a hospital emergency ward in terrible pain, shaking, and now testing positive for coronavirus.

Quote:
Mr Hassan said his message for young people was "to take this virus more seriously".

"To think that it's not going to get you, to think that it's not going to affect you is the wrong thinking," he said.

And, I wonder how many others are testing negative when they really do have the virus? That's definitely something to worry about.

Really never heard of the flu doing that

That's because the media don't sensationalized the flu

if you go back and check you will find that several teenagers died in one week from influenza in 2018
A current affair were nice enough to do a story on a baby dying from influenza last year
In the United States in the 2018 flu season
Which admittedly was a bad season
300 people under the age of 18 died from influenza

So I would suggest you are just misinformed and living in the current coronavirus virus hysteria
Infectious diseases are always trying to kill us and often succeeding
This is just another in a long long long long long list
Thankfully it's not that bad

My daughter up in Queensland had a drive through test last week (within 24 hours got results = negative) but get this, doctor said it could be a false reading. And was told to treat it as a positive and stay away from people for next 2 weeks, just to be sure. Well she’s hermit enough so there’s no problem there!
So this testing is not a certainty.
False readings if either negative or positive?
Any wonder it’s spreading as it is!
