Collecting information on people, which you have done, to use later against them is one attribute of being a stalker.

You calling a person, tracking them down with the information you have learned is stalking.

Mind you, this is the definition you use.

As to your statement that you can learning nothing from an IP address, you miss the context I said it with because you are not technically savvy. It depends on the Point of Presence (POP) of your IP in the internet. You use a service provider used by 10s of thousands of people, all it will tell you is you are with a service provider. If you connect from a place of work that has there own POP then you can see the company of they work at. (if they area large company)

As to your threat to track me down and publish my details here. Up to you arsehole. I have done nothing to be ashamed of to be publicly outed here. Unlike you.

We need to clarify something -
there are 2 types of stalking -

one is not malicious and
the other is malicious.

For instance in Aussie's admitted example -
he was trying to get a hard disk to help the chat site.
That sounds like a legitimate reason and
no one was hurt.

However - if someone found the name of
a poster's employer and phoned up that employer
to try and make that poster lose their job -
for whatever reason -
then that is malicious and outrageous -
also - possibly even criminal behaviour.
That is entirely different.

No, I have not done that, unless you are referring to me, manually recording IPs (as a Mod) at the original PA to stop the rampant use and abuse of socks to attack Members especially ele.

Having said that, on your definition, you are saying that Neferti is a stalker. Yes or no.

We have also seen in this thread Aussie threatening to sue and stalk people. And he still seems oblivious to how creepy it is.

So it's fair to stalk an ex if your only intention is to make them truly happy?

Most stalking hinges on some kind of detachment from reality in which the stalker believes they have good reason. That's why sane people don't stalk.
