Unfortunately—no way of knowing if the first egg laid is the egg that hatched first. Not necessarily, according to info in the original hawk thread.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that the adult birds left the eggs alone for brief periods before they hatched too ... I had assumed that one of them would be on the nest at all times.

They leave the hatchlings alone for brief periods now as well.

Seems that two of the three are a bit more active than the third chick. One gets a bigger share of the food too from what I have seen. Greedy little tyke. Shocked
