It is an American term with a nuance they do not grasp so I smile every time they wrongly use it.

This guy applied for a UK work visa, was still waiting for it and decided to fly to England just as a tourist while it was being processed airport immigration flagged him believing he was going to work, detained him and flicked him back to Aus.
