Have you ever seen a Gum Emperor caterpillar or moth?

I used to keep one as pet when I was a kid – I did that a few times.
I would have a small branch of gum leaves in a jar of water and one caterpillar on it.
I would change the branch every week.
They grow huge – over 10cm long and have beautiful bright colours.
Eventually it would make a chrysalis  and later on would emerge as a beautiful moth.

I remember the Gummies (Gum Emperor caterpillars), but I don't think I ever kept them.
Didn't like the Spitfire caterpillars.

Spitfire caterpillars sting -

Gum Emperor caterpillars are harmless.
