A meeting
Nov 1st, 2020 at 10:47am

Met an old customer of my shop at the farmers market this morning. He thanked me for having the shop—I told all my customers the best way to brew, to calculate recipes etc.

He is growing apples in the Adelaide Hills, has made some cider for his own use but sells apples and apple juice. He had his scratter and stainless steel basket press, maybe $1500 for the two, reckon a set up like his would do for scratting and pressing my apples and pears as well as press softfruits like cherries, raspberries, black currants etc.

Told him to buy and plant a Bulmers Norman cider apple tree, lots of tannins to add to tannin-free dessert apples.

Bought some juice and apples from him.
