Have We The People been asked to vote on criteria for gender equality - good to see they avoid the very loose and much-abused term 'equity'.

I'd say, to the contrary, that REAL sexism is alive and thriving under the aegis of stupid, self-serving governments and institutions.....  look around - every job in any government sphere 'must' be filled by a woman, no matter how incompetent or even average in real performance.

For every woman on the road gang or grass mowing detail, there are half a dozen in the overpaid clerical positions that men filled admirably - setting the yardsticks - for countless decades, but are now excluded from unless they kiss the ass of their female co-workers and suck up to ideology. 

That goes way up the coast here - any council without a woman mayor is viewed as 'sexist'.... and women MPs are flooding the joint in the Nationals, who are, of course, now largely comprised of 'town' bushies (like Barnaby) with all the ideological jigsaw bits in place about 'development' and 'progress' and so forth.  And people still vote for them as if they 'represent the bush'.      

When will this end??

The only "discrimination" is in your mind, Graps.  Women have moved out into the workforce and today hold many jobs previously only held by men.   Today, they are accorded their full rights as people, the same rights traditionally held by men.  They are chosen on their abilities (in the main), not their gender.
