One of the aims of gender equality is to place females in jobs they
are totally unsuited for and are unable to perform thus forcing their male co workers to do most of their work for them while earning the same pay. Less work= more pay (for women)

Women tend not to apply for jobs they are unable to perform, just as many men don't.  Don't you think sexism is long past it's used by date? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

So now men can't perform teaching, banking, public service, real estate, medicine, nursing (men used to be the ONLY nurses), pharmacy, retail, politics and so on and so on?  They'd prefer to be out there in the hot sun picking strawberries or digging ditches?

You don't imagine there might be just a HINT of discrimination involved, do you?

The only "discrimination" is in your mind, Graps.  Women have moved out into the workforce and today hold many jobs previously only held by men.   Today, they are accorded their full rights as people, the same rights traditionally held by men.  They are chosen on their abilities (in the main), not their gender.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

.. such as preferential schooling, preferential scholarships, preferential appointment to positions, being pumped into 'traditionally male' roles without men being pumped into 'traditionally female roles', at LEAST 50% positions in Labor politics.....

I fear, my son, that you are confusing rights with Rights... and equalities with Equality ... equal employment opportunity with genuine equal treatment on merit ....

Each and every one of these 'rights' or women opens the road to discriminatory practices without any means of setting things right and Equal...

Keep up, son - I can't lead someone willfully blind over twenty miles in four hours at night.

The only "wilful blindness" is your own, Graps.  Women start at a disadvantage.  They have been denied political and social rights.  Those rights have been restored to them after they were stolen.  It took two world wars and a revolution in social thought to achieve it.  Today, they are approaching equality but only just.  Too few women in positions of real responsibility, too few women control their own finances.  Too much housework and too much child rearing.   Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Yep.
Islam has been oppressing women since the koran was dragged out of the butt hole of the devil.

Women have zero rights under Islamic rule.

I'm glad you are starting to see the light.

"Women start at a disadvantage."

They control 70% of the money, and 100% of the pussy - where's the disadvantage?

I'd like to start at the kind of disadvantage most of these activist women did - they wouldn't know what disadvantage is, given their eased path through education, artificial flooding into various easy jobs (and no hard ones), and so forth.

The fruit will come to the public eye once such things as pumping them into the lovely super jobs has run its 'lifetime' of fifty years.... and they increasingly retire with more and more than men..... as if they already don't, given that they at least share the old man's super now anyway, cop the lioness' share from primarily woman-initiated divorce, and so forth.

I say we call it equal and start treating people equally now - then start the reparations to the men robbed in the past to make up their falsity of numbers.

When women work on average 32.8 hours a week and men work on average 41.5 - there WILL be an income gap for the same jobs and pay rates..... and no amount of whining about 'equity' will alter reality - you EARN what your earn from the hours you put in in the same job.  They already receive a higher rate of pay via being paid PPL and other leaves.... this simply has to stop if Equity is to be the rule, along with any number of other issues that require rectifying along the lines of genuine equality.

If the heat is too hot out of the kitchen - they can always head back there, but continuing to rob Peter to pay Paula is not on any more - not after forty years already.

For every woman not in a position of real responsibility, there is at least one man - and these days probably more who've been bypassed to suit ideology
