I'm sitting here wondering what sort of retarded country allows thousands of potentially COVID infected "returned travellers" to fly in every week and then tries to quarantine them all in city hotels (which were never designed for that purpose) right in the middle of the major population centres?

I know its apparently an international law - "Right of Return" or some BS but it is obvious that this law never anticipated global pandemics such as the one we're in the middle of right now.

Its about time this particular international law was revised to take into account things like global pandemics. No-one should be allowed to enter the country in the situation we're in right now until it is safe to do so.

Failing that, "returned travellers" need to be quarantined for 14 days and tested for COVID before they step onto a plane to come to Australia (and then be quarantined again for another 14 days after they get here just to make sure).
