its been brought in by Airline crews  coming from USA  bring home all those whinging aussies who refused to return in the very first instance.......

A. the haven't found patient zero. Everything else is just a guess.
B. many of those 'whinging aussies' were unable to come back when it first started. Lots of flights were cancelled and many people were stranded. I spoke to someone just last week who'd been stuck in the UK pretty much since this started and only recently made it back. They'd had 8 flights cancelled over their time there. Paying $15 000 a ticket per person isn't always an option for many people either.

yes we get that.... my daughter took 4 days to return from Laos[ 8 hours away] to Australlia... nothing is like it once was. if you had any idea what is involved in transporting people from one part of the globe to another....you would be astounded....it is nothing like a travel agency 12 months ago........not even close......

its lousy  but its the whole world  not just one or two countries...

You contradict yourself cods ... you say you get it, but you're quite happy to blame them for not coming back immediately whilst acknowledging that they couldn't come home for often what was no fault of their own

Another 3 cases of Covid today.

https://7news.com.au/sport/cricket/victoria-records-more-covid-19-community-tran...

Victoria has recorded a further three locally acquired COVID-19 cases just days after the state celebrated a two-month streak of no community transmission.

Acting Premier Jacinta Allan confirmed all three cases had been linked to the Black Rock cluster which now numbers 21, of which 13 directly attended the Buffalo Smile Thai restaurant.

“I think Victorians can take great comfort from today’s numbers,” she said.

“Strong work has been done by our tracing team, talking to and interviewing the primary and secondary contacts of all our cases.”

More than 22,400 tests were received in the same 24 hour reporting period, taking the state’s active cases to 32.

Testing centres across the state have been working longer hours to meet demand from travellers returning from NSW who require mandatory testing, those identified as close contacts and those who have been in exposure sites.

And, the incompetence goes on... and on... and on...and  not just in Victoria and New South Wales.

Its a wonder that COVID-19 isn't running rampant in South Australia by now.

SA police reveal 99 security guards stood down or sacked for coronavirus medi-hotel breaches

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-01-03/coronavirus-sa-medi-hotel-quarantine-secu...

Quote:
Police records show 99 security guards were stood down or terminated for coronavirus medi-hotel breaches in South Australia.

One was "observed to be smelling of alcohol" while on duty; another was caught posting a video on social media, taken inside a medi-hotel while on duty; another "became disorderly" when found using a mobile phone on duty.

That security guard was one of 31 disciplined for using a mobile phone while on the job.

A further 23 security guards were caught sleeping while on duty.

Hard to find anyone who is willing and able to do their jobs properly these days, so it would seem.

Unfortunately, its now just a matter of time before we have a major COVID-19 outbreak in Australia.

And Perth.

I'm prepared.

I have masks and toilet paper.

People are flawed. Especially with mundane and boring jobs like security guards. Where I work the guards sit at their station on 12 hr shifts, they don't even patrol the site, only sit at their station and check that whoever enters is supposed to be there ... the night shift often has nothing happen except at the start and the end of the shift ...They're always looking for ways to amuse themselves or go crazy. Imagine doing that day in and day out, 3 or 4 days a week, for months on end. It would drive me nuts, no way I would do it. .

Are we headed for more dirty Dan lockdowns?

You can blame Gladys and her incompetent handling of the NSW outbreak
we can blame that dumb obnoxious bitch for every case of community transmission in Australia. Gross incompetence.

Why am I not surprised?

Police issue plea to Victorians who recently flew into WA after quarantine breaches

https://thewest.com.au/news/coronavirus/coronavirus-crisis-police-issue-plea-to-...

Quote:
Police are pleading with Victorians who have recently flown into WA to respect the State’s COVID-19 measures after a number of reckless interstate travellers flouted self-isolation requirements — including one tourist who broke her isolation to take a dip in a shared pool.

Three travellers caught breaching the Emergency Management Act have been slapped with $1000 fines after leaving quarantine during the mandatory 14-day period this week.

The breaches occurred despite each traveller receiving several emails and texts informing them of their obligations.

Seriously.... send them ALL back to where they came from. RIGHT NOW!!! Stop messing around with these idiots!

(With any luck maybe a large number of the 100+ planes I've seen and heard landing at Perth Airport today might be here to take these clowns back to the Eastern States - we can only hope).
