Uh-oh!
Melbourne on high alert as another hotel quarantine worker tests positive for coronavirus

I wonder how long we're going to allow this to continue before something serious is done to protect the Australian population from these "returned travellers" a large proportion of whom appear to be bringing the virus back with them?
Since we can't stop them returning if they're Australian citizens (apparently it has something to do with "Right of Return", an international law which enables passport holders to enter the country they hold the passport for without hindrance, a law which obviously didn't foresee a global pandemic such as the one we're having right now) then the Federal and State governments need to get their acts together and move the quarantine out of the major population areas.
They need to build quarantine centres outside the cities RIGHT NOW. A valid point about remote quarantine centres is that some people need urgent medical attention if they've got Covid. OK, then build hospitals alongside the quarantine centres as well.
If China could build a new hospital in 10 days last year then surely we can do something similar here? (yeah, right - with this country it would probably take
10 months just to award the contracts).

Another cause for concern is this:
NSW health alert after returned traveller tests positive for COVID-19 following hotel quarantine
https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/nsw-health-alert-after-returned-traveller-te... Quote:The returned overseas traveller, who did not have any symptoms, tested positive on day 16 after two weeks of quarantine.
So, it looks like 14 days of quarantine may not be enough in some cases?
But, not to worry Melbourne - at least the tennis is still on (at the moment).
